Today, July 13th, WWE<\/strong> announced that another round of college-exclusive tryouts will be held in conjunction with SummerSlam<\/strong><\/em> weekend. The multi-day tryout, exclusively for current and recently graduated college athletes, is presented by Pure Life Water and will be streamed in part to fans, similar to major sports leagues showing draft combines. The tryouts are designed for WWE to continue to build their NIL program, which to date, has featured two classes, the most recent of which is set to start reporting to the Performance Center this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Among the group of athletes set to participate in the SummerSlam tryouts are those with backgrounds in basketball, track and field, wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics, cheer\/dance, and college football, including several athletes who recently took part in the 2022 NFL Rookie Mini Camps across the league. This will be WWE’s second-ever talent tryout exclusively for college athletes, with the first taking place prior to WrestleMania 38<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

“More Than 50 College Athletes to Participate, Tickets Go On Sale Friday, July 15<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0(NYSE: WWE) today announced that it will host a multi-day talent tryout, exclusively for current and recently graduated college athletes, as part of\u00a0SummerSlam Week\u00a0<\/i>in\u00a0Nashville.<\/p>\n

The three-day event,\u00a0presented by Pure Life Water,<\/i>\u00a0begins Wednesday, July 27, at the Wildhorse Saloon, a 60,000-square-foot live music and event venue and staple of downtown\u00a0Nashville. WWE will host more than 50 male and female participants with collegiate athletic backgrounds across football, basketball, track and field, wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics, cheer and dance. Athletes will partake in performance evaluations, individual and group promo evaluations, in-ring technical sessions and sit-down interviews as part of the tryout process. The invite-only event features several athletes who attended 2022 NFL Rookie Mini Camps.<\/p>\n

WWE hosted its first-ever talent tryout exclusively consisting of former college athletes ahead of\u00a0WrestleMania 38<\/i>\u00a0in April. That inaugural event led to WWE signing more than 20 athletes who will start their developmental process at WWE\u2019s Performance Center in\u00a0Orlando\u00a0prior to\u00a0SummerSlam<\/i>.<\/p>\n

On Friday, July 29, for the first time ever, WWE will host a\u00a0SummerSlam Tryout Viewing Experience<\/i>\u00a0event at the Wildhorse Saloon which gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the WWE Tryout process. Tickets start at\u00a0$20\u00a0for general admission access and go on sale on this Friday, July 15 at 1 p.m. ET via\u00a0Ticketmaster<\/a>. VIP tickets are available for\u00a0$100\u00a0and include a ring photograph with WWE Superstars and Legends.<\/p>\n

SummerSlam<\/i>\u00a0takes place Saturday, July 30 live from Nissan Stadium in\u00a0Nashville. Tickets are currently on sale via\u00a0Ticketmaster<\/a>\u00a0and premium experience packages are available via\u00a0On Location<\/a>.\u00a0SummerSlam<\/i>\u00a0will stream live exclusively on Peacock in\u00a0the United States\u00a0and on WWE Network everywhere else.<\/p>\n
