It cant be a #NewJapanWeek without a look at the worldwide sensation\u00a0The Bullet Club.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>As we did with other factions like Los<\/strong> Ingobernales de Japon<\/strong> <\/a>and CHAOS<\/strong><\/a>, here’s a quick catch-up on who’s in the Bullet Club today.<\/p>\n

Bullet Club: The Past<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Before\u00a0Kenny Omega\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0The Elite,<\/strong> it was\u00a0Finn Balor <\/strong>(then known as\u00a0Prince Devitt)\u00a0<\/strong>who was the leader of the Bullet Club<\/a>.\u00a0 He used the opportunity to move to the Heavyweight division and become a main eventer.\u00a0 The group saw gaijins<\/em> (foreign wrestlers) come together to wreak havoc on New Japan.\u00a0 Balor was joined by\u00a0Karl Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Doc Gallows\u00a0<\/strong>as the main heavyweight tag team.\u00a0 With Balor WWE bound he was ousted as leader.\u00a0 He was replaced by the\u00a0TNA\u00a0<\/strong>(now\u00a0Impact Wrestling<\/strong>) and ROH <\/strong>legend\u00a0AJ Styles,\u00a0<\/strong>at this point Styles was considered one of the best workers in the worlds and brought alot of attention and success to the Bullet Club.\u00a0 There were other, lesser members such as\u00a0Cody Hall, Amber Gallows\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Bone Soldier.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Originals<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Tama Tonga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tama Tonga was one of the four founder of the Bullet Club, he spent most of the early time teaming with\u00a0Bad Luck Fale.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>He was a big part of the Latin American arm of BC, as he competed frequently in\u00a0Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre <\/strong>(CMLL).\u00a0 He spent most of the 2015 as the fall guy in multi man matches.\u00a0 In 2016 he was able to play a role in matches for the\u00a0NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships<\/strong>.\u00a0 In March 2016, Tonga announced he would be forming\u00a0Guerillas Of Destiny<\/strong> with his adoptive brother and former WWE talent\u00a0Tanga Loa\u00a0<\/strong>(Camacho <\/strong>in the WWE).\u00a0 A month later the duo captured the\u00a0IWGP Tag Team Championships.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The two brother formed a great tag team that has become three time tag team champions and are part of the reigning 6-man champions.\u00a0 Tonga has continued to improve and is certainly a handy tag specialist to have in the Bullet Club.<\/p>\n

Bad Luck Fale<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Underboss is the only other remaining original BC member.\u00a0 The tall, big man is a great upper midcarder and gives the Bullet Club some added danger.\u00a0 He spent the first year as protection for Devitt, tagging with him in\u00a0World Tag League\u00a0<\/strong>and feuding with anyone the Bullet Club decided to take out.\u00a0 In 2014 he briefly held the\u00a0IWGP Intercontinental Championship<\/strong> defeating and then losing it back to\u00a0Shinsuke Nakamura<\/strong>.\u00a0 He had some good performances in the 2014 and 2015 G1 Climax keeping himself a threat for multiple titles.\u00a0 His 2016 was spent challenging for the trios titles with Tama Tonga and\u00a0Yujiro Takahashi.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>2017 saw him as runner up in the\u00a0New Japan Cup,\u00a0<\/strong>challenge\u00a0Kazuchika Okada\u00a0<\/strong>for the\u00a0IWGP World Heavyweight Champion\u00a0<\/strong>and win the trios tile for a second time, this time with G.O.D.\u00a0 Fale has always been in the Bullet Club and always been presented as an obstacle for opponents to overcome.\u00a0 He may never be world champion but he fills a great role in both he roster and the Bullet Club.<\/p>\n

The first Australian member<\/a> “Mr.Juicy” has been really impressive in the Australian scene and\u00a0Melbourne City Wrestling<\/strong> in particular.<\/p>\n

Leo Tonga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The big prospect, son of Haku and brother of G.O.D<\/a>.\u00a0The 26 year old is nearly 7 foot tall and towers above his Japanese opponents.\u00a0 Has all the raw power to be very successful in future.<\/p>\n

Stephen Amell<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The actor famous for being\u00a0Oliver Queen<\/strong>\u00a0aka The Green Arrow\u00a0<\/strong>in the hit TV show, Arrow<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 His joining is the most WWE thing the Bullet Club has ever done and the name value he adds to the group makes him a worthwhile addition.<\/p>\n

Chase Owens<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The main fall guy in multi man matches.\u00a0 Owens may never see much success but he could be a future 6-man champion. He’s currently the side kick to Bad Luck Fale and learning to become “Tongan”.<\/p>\n

Yujiro Takahashi<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The “Tokyo Pimp”\u00a0<\/strong>was the first Japanese member of the Bullet Club.\u00a0 His pimp gimmick fit the early aesthetic of BC.\u00a0 The Former\u00a0No Limits\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Chaos\u00a0<\/strong>member turned on Chaos shortly after WrestleKingdom 8 to join the BC.\u00a0 He helped then leader AJ Styles defeat\u00a0Kazuchika Okada\u00a0<\/strong>for the IWGP heavyweight title.\u00a0 His early tenure in the BC sae him win the NEVER Openweight title and team with Styles in world tag league.\u00a0 After a poor performance in the 2014 G1 Climax he was sent down the card and became fodder in multi man tags doing nothing of note in 2015.\u00a0 In 2016 he mostly challenged for the six man titles.\u00a0 He has started teaming with\u00a0Hangman Page\u00a0<\/strong>in a move that could spur the pair on to tag team success.<\/p>\n

Adam “Hangman” Page<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Page competes in both ROH and NJPW as part of Bullet Club while also representing The Elite.\u00a0 The 26 year old has all the raw talent to be a big star in the future.\u00a0 He successfully teams with\u00a0The Young Bucks\u00a0<\/strong>as the ROH six man champions as\u00a0The Hung Bucks\u00a0<\/strong>and has started teaming with Takahashi which could lead to more sucess.<\/p>\n

“The Villain” Marty Scurll<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Every story needs a Villain, and the Bullet Club got theirs on the same night they kicked out former member Adam Cole. The UK star has gone on to hold many championships as a Bullet Club member, including the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion heading into Wrestle Kingdom 12<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The new leader of the Ring of Honor branch, former ROH World Champion, and part of the Being The Elite <\/strong><\/em>cast along with Omega, Young Bucks, Scurll and Hangman, Cody has fit in nicely with the Bullet Club since he left the WWE last year.<\/p>\n

The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Arguably the best tag team in the world<\/a> and the biggest international stars outside of the WWE.\u00a0 The pair have brought the most success and international appeal to the Bullet Club as their matches never fail to court controversy and much needed buzz.\u00a0 They have gone on to become record six time Junior Heavyweight tag team champions as well as having two reigns as NEVER 6 man champions with\u00a0Kenny Omega<\/strong>.\u00a0 They have also maintained a large Bullet Club presence worldwide through their numerous UK tours as well as being the faces of ROH and PWG.\u00a0 Their ability to gain attention and drive merchandise sales have turned the Bullet Club into the international phenomenon it is today.\u00a0 It is no joke to say the Bucks are the most important members of the Bullet Club<\/p>\n

Kenny Omega<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Having signed from\u00a0Dramatic Dream Team (DDT)\u00a0<\/strong>Omega sided with the Bullet Club.\u00a0 Swayed by the money and potential for Junior Heavyweight gold he dubbed himself “The Cleaner” and took on a new villainous persona.\u00a0 At Wrestle Kingdom 9<\/strong><\/em> he won the junior heavyweight title from\u00a0Ryusuke Taguchi.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>He would hold the title on and off until WrestleKingdom 10.\u00a0 At\u00a0New Year Dash,<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>the day after Wrestle Kingdom 10<\/strong><\/em>, Omega ousted Styles as leader of the Bullet Club and announced his intentions to become a Heavyweight, forming The Elite<\/strong> as a new power trio with the Young Bucks at the top of the Bullet Club food chain.\u00a0 He spent most of 2016 feuding for the Intercontinental championship before winning that year’s G1 Climax<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 The rest as they say is history.\u00a0 Omega went on to put on some all time classics in 2017, leading their global expansion and becoming a huge star in the process.\u00a0 2018 is set to be an even bigger year for Omega and the Bullet Club as he looks to finally capture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.\u00a0 But first he has an Alpha to take down.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
