However, the evening was not short on non-title surprises. Making his AEW debut, following numerous reports and ample speculation, was <strong>Swerve Strickland.<\/strong> Following the &#8220;Face of the Revolution&#8221; ladder match, Tony Schivone took the stage. He announced the arrival of Shane Strickland to AEW. Furthermore, Sapp claimed that Strickland&#8217;s debut would be &#8220;imminent,&#8221; even as soon as <em>Revolution<\/em>, though the specific details regarding his debut were unknown. Adding fuel to the fire was that Strickland was reportedly in attendance for AEW&#8217;s concert this past Saturday in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Pro wrestling fans may best know Strickland for his time in <strong>WWE<\/strong>, where he competed as Isaiah &#8220;Swerve&#8221; Scott on <strong><em>NXT<\/em> <\/strong>and <strong><em>Friday Night SmackDown<\/em><\/strong>. During his stint in the company, he formed <strong>Hit Row<\/strong> alongside <strong>Top Dolla<\/strong>, <strong>Ashante &#8220;Thee&#8221; Adonis<\/strong>, and <strong>B-Fab<\/strong>, even becoming NXT North American Champion as part of the faction. This past November, Strickland <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/11\/18\/john-morrison-isaiah-swerve-scott-released-wwe\/\" target=\"_self\">was released from WWE<\/a> along with various other talents. Strickland made his return to the independent scene last month, competing in <strong>PROGRESS Wrestling<\/strong>, <strong>New Japan Pro-Wrestling<\/strong>, and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland&#8217;s championship success isn&#8217;t limited to WWE, either. During his time on the independent scene, he captured world title gold in different organizations.
