As the months built up, it began to seem like nothing was happening. Until finally it did. And then &#8220;The Alpha&#8221; Chris Jericho challenged Kenny Omega to a match at <em><strong>Wrestle Kingdom 12<\/strong><\/em> to determine who was the best wrestler on the planet. The taunting continued until Jericho finally appeared live and in person in Japan last week to deliver Omega a bloody beat down going into January 4. But as excited as everyone is for this dream confrontation from the two biggest stars from Winnipeg (you idiot!), most assumed this was a one shot deal for the former &#8220;Lionheart&#8221; in the Land of the Rising Sun. But according to Chris Jericho himself, that may not entirely be the case.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11043\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11043\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-11043\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/12\/chris-jericho-attacks-kenny-omega-njpw-world-tag-league-finals-BIG-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11043\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: NJPW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Could Jericho vs Naito Be Next On The List?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A few days ago, Chris Jericho spoke to <a href=\"https:\/\/proresu-today.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Proresu Today<\/a>, one of Japan&#8217;s biggest wrestling news sites, to discuss Wrestle Kingdom 12 and how his match versus Omega was a bigger event than the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match between <strong>Kazuchika Okada<\/strong> and his challenger, <strong>Tetsuya Naito<\/strong>. \u00a0Here&#8217;s what Y2J told them:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;Okada and Naito will be a huge match, but even in Japan, people are getting to be more excited for me and Kenny. As big as Okada and Naito is, it can&#8217;t transcend New Japan. (Our match) might never happen again. That gives it a different level of importance.\u00a0I&#8217;ve said maybe me and Kenny will never happen again. But I never said I&#8217;d only do one match. I never said this would be my last match with New Japan. Wait and see.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jericho continued to weigh in on Naito&#8217;s displeasure with the double main event billing when he spoke to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/wrestling\/2017\/12\/20\/wwe-news-chris-jericho-kenny-omega-daniel-cormier\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated today<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cNaito, don\u2019t worry about what I\u2019m doing, just worry about what you\u2019re doing,\u201d offered Jericho. \u201cYou\u2019re going on last, but just because you\u2019re last doesn\u2019t make you the main event. See WrestleMania 18 if you want to know more about that.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cI don\u2019t give a sh&#8211; who\u2019s on last. If Naito is pissed off at me, then go out and prove it. It makes me want to work harder. Worldwide, and I\u2019m just telling the facts, Alpha-Omega is the main event.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Of course, all of this is in retaliation to an article with Yahoo Sports Japan, where Naito scoffed at Kenny Omega&#8217;s statement that it was a double main event.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Naito responds to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KennyOmegamanX?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@KennyOmegamanX<\/a> calling <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/njwk12?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#njwk12<\/a> a double main event. &#39;One, I&#39;ve been through this. I&#39;ve been called &#39;double main event one&#39;. It doesn&#39;t mean anything. After all, the night after <em>Wrestle Kingdom 12<\/em>, NJPW throws it&#8217;s next big event, <em><strong>New Year&#8217;s Dash 2018<\/strong><\/em>, and there&#8217;s no announced matches yet.
