They are currently on their <\/span><b><i>New Years Golden Series<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tour that features four major events with must-see title matches. The first of those four is this Friday as <\/span><b>El Desperado <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against <\/span><b>Master Wato<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the main event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s what is on tap for the show.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>NJPW New Years Golden Series Full Card (2\/11\/22)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Yuto Nakashima &amp; Tomoaki Honma vs. Kosei Fujita &amp; Ryohei Oiwa<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 BUSHI &amp; Hiromu Takahashi vs. BUSHI &amp; Yoshinobu Kanemaru<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto &amp; Tomohiro Ishii vs. Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi &amp; EVIL<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe &amp; Toru Yano vs. TAKA Michinoku, Taichi &amp; Minoru Suzuki<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Satoshi Kojima &amp; Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Great-O-Khan &amp; Jeff Cobb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi &amp; Yuji Nagata vs. Tetsuya Naito, SANADA &amp; Shingo Takagi<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Tiger Mask vs. Taiji Ishimori<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 YOH vs. SHO<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: El Desperado (c) vs. Master Wato<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>NJPW New Years Golden Series Match Preview<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: El Desperado (c) vs. Master Wato<\/b><\/h3>\n<figure style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/r3CkXTS.jpg\" alt=\"Master Wato vs El Desperado | New Years Golden Series\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: NJPW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Master Wato managed to snag a pinfall victory over El Desperado at<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Wrestle Kingdom<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> night two, one night after the champion had defeated <\/span><b>Hiromu Takahashi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a successful defense of the title. The win earned the young Wato his first-ever IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match and it will be one that he does not want to mess up. It\u2019s asking a lot to expect Wato to stand up to the champion and beat him once again, this time in singles action. The track record of Wato is that he has all the tools but the tools have never sharpened themselves out. He\u2019s still far from a finished product but the unpredictability gives the 24-year-old a fighting chance come Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Desperado, however, has been on a level that he\u2019s never experienced before. After defeating <\/span><b>Robbie Eagles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the gold, he showed that he was no placeholder of a champion by taking down Takahashi once and for all inside the Tokyo Dome.
