Some are veterans revitalizing their careers, some are indie prospects hitting their peaks, while others are names to be on the watch for! In this edition, we look at one of Pittsburgh’s homegrown talents who is taking the U.S. indies by storm, the punk rock pixie Ziggy Haim.

In 2017, a young woman from Pittsburgh who went by the name Jinx made her pro wrestling debut. Since then, she’s grown as a wrestler and a person, and in 2019 became the punk rock grappler re-christened as Ziggy Haim. Since the pandemic, she’s proven she’s more than capable in the ring, cementing herself as one of the U.S. indies’ top emerging talents, and helping put indie wrestling back on the map for her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Originally trained by Pennsylvania veterans Chris LeRusso and Andrew Palace, Ziggy Haim got her start in 2017 with International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) at IWC Proving Ground 6 in February with a big win over Samantha Heights. Named Jinx, she soon expanded into the Midwest with Ohio’s Premier Championship Wrestling (PCW), as well as debuting with Queens of Combat (QOC) by July.

By the summer of 2018, she began working with RISE Wrestling, and soon became a regular in her hometown with Ryse Wrestling, while continuing to battle in IWC. She also made her debut for IWA Mid-South, facing West Coast veteran Kikyo. The following year in 2019, Jinx made her debut for Women’s Superstars Uncensored (WSU) and CHIKARA. In April of 2021, she defeated David Lawless to finally win the Ryse Grand Championship, which she held for 227-days.

By the fall of 2019, Jinx was no more and Ziggy Haim began the groundwork for the persona we see today. Still a regular at the PolyAm Cult mansion, Ziggy also became an early star for upstart Pittsburgh promotion Enjoy Wrestling, whose feud with Edith Surreal – culminating in an amazing Hair vs. Mask match at Enjoy Night Moves episode three, which aired in mid-November – was one of this year’s best. She’s also made her debut with Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) in Cleveland, where she’s joined The Production stable.

Ziggy Haim has emerged as the punk rock version of Molly Holly, an underdog sort of innocence, but wrapped in the brazen attitude of never can die. She has proven she can stand toe-to-toe with men, women, and non-binary, in mat wrestling or hardcore warfare, and will never back down no matter what the odds are against her. With her vision now firmly intact, Ziggy Haim’s stock continues to rise in the U.S. indies and it’s only a matter of time before she begins to expand nationally.

Main Photo by Sadiel Ruiz, Speedy Photo

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
