Invader I Returns to United States with FWR<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In what came as a shock for many wrestling fans, especially those living in North America, Invader I<\/strong> \u2013 aka Jose Gonzalez \u2013 will be appearing in the Florida Wrestling Revolution<\/strong> show on 2\/10.<\/p>\n

Jose Gonzalez<\/strong> is arguably one of the most controversial names in Wrestling\u2019s history. He was one of the top talents of the golden age of Puerto Rican Wrestling \u2013 with Carlos Colon\u2019s Capitol Sports Promotion<\/strong> \u2013 and the head booker at that time. He is also responsible for the vicious murder of Bruiser Brody<\/strong> in a locker room in Bayamon in 1988. The crime was notorious, as the trial ruled that Gonzalez acted on self-defense. The murder and the trial were a decisive factor for the degradation of Puerto Rican wrestling. To add more insulting injury, Jose Gonzalez was still loved by Puerto Rican fans, stayed on top of the World Wrestling Council<\/strong> (WWC) and even came back to be the head booker.<\/p>\n

Now, 29 years later, we find out about a promoter \u2013 who has a promising platform for young hungry wrestler from the Caribbean and Latin American \u2013 that finds acceptable to book a man (Invader I) that not only is black listed from Japan and places in the United States, but that did so much damage for the Puerto Rican wrestling scene that is in a down time right now. Invader I will be refereeing for a match between Bronco I<\/strong> \u2013 a big Dominican star from back in the day and arguably one of the best talkers in Puerto Rican wrestling history – \u00a0and Fidel Sierra<\/strong> (The Cuban Assassin).<\/p>\n

If that wasn\u2019t enough, do you know who is getting honored that night in FWR? Non-other than \u201cDirty\u201d Dutch Mantel<\/strong>, the guy who has been very vocal about Jose Gonzalez\u2019s crime and one of the wrestlers who couldn\u2019t testify in the trial because his subpoena arrived<\/a> after it had ended. Also, gets who is in the main event? Savio Vega<\/strong> and Miguel Perez Jr.<\/strong>, the latter one is already not wrestling for the FWR show and is going to be substitute by Carlito \u201cCaribbean Cool\u201d<\/strong>. Savio is the most interesting one, this year, he sat down with Jim Cornette<\/strong> in Kayfabe Commentary\u2019s Back to the Territories<\/strong>, were he gave a detailed version of the crime that happened that summer of 1988 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n

Aro Lucha\u00a0Signs Mecha Wolf 450 and Vanilla Vargas <\/strong><\/h2>\n

A new project \u2013 Aro Lucha<\/strong> \u2013<\/a> is making its way in the North American wrestling market \u2013 specifically in Tennessee \u2013 and involves former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio<\/strong>, former Lucha Underground<\/strong> talents like Pentag\u00f3n Jr. <\/strong>& Willie Mack <\/strong>and talents from the Caribbean like 2-time WWC Universal Champion Mecha Wolf 450 <\/strong>& World Wrestling League\u2019s<\/strong> Vanilla Vargas<\/strong>. The Aroluxe<\/strong> project will be written primarily by Konnan and it will have a same approach as Lucha Underground, but more \u201cfamily friendly\u201d.<\/p>\n

The taping will start in Nashville, TN on December 10 and it will feature matches like Rey Mysterio Jr. & Pentag\u00f3n vs. Rush<\/strong> & John Morrison<\/strong>, Jack Evans<\/strong>, Hurricane Helms<\/strong> & Maximo<\/strong> vs. Garza Jr<\/strong>., La Mascara<\/strong> & Daga<\/strong>, MVP<\/strong> vs Sammy<\/strong> Guevara<\/strong>, among others. Mecha Wolf 450 \u2013 who recently joined Garza Jr. in The Crash for his La Rebeli\u00f3n faction \u2013 will be going against his bitter rival in The Crash Lucha Libre<\/strong>, Willie Mack. Vanilla Vargas, who is arguably the best female prospect coming from Puerto Rico will be in a tag match alongside former rival Taya against Keira<\/strong> and Lacey<\/strong> Lane<\/strong>. This will be the first time for Vanilla\u00a0has been\u00a0on a North American\u00a0TV show, while for Mecha Wolf \u2013 formerly known as Mr.450<\/strong> \u2013 is his first big break, as his opportunities in WWE<\/strong>, NXT<\/strong> and TNA<\/strong> weren\u2019t that good.<\/p>\n

CWA Makes A Comeback<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Championship Wrestling Association<\/strong> became the first promotion to run a wrestling show after hurricane Maria. The event held at Toa Alta on 11\/25<\/a> was headlined by Starr Roger<\/strong> successfully defending his CWA Championship against Balrog<\/strong>. The promotion had to start early on Saturday due to the weak electrical power that Puerto Rico is suffering. Justin Dynamite was able successfully defend his Puerto Rican Championship against Bane<\/strong>. With Roger\u2019s and Justin\u2019s defense championships and the return of the show Christmas Showdown show, both talents will complete a one-year reign with their respective titles. This is something that has never happened in Puerto Rico, not even in the days of the old CSP<\/strong> (now WWC).<\/p>\n

For Roger, his won the title by beating Jay Lethal<\/strong> last year. Al though CWA<\/strong> is the 3rd<\/sup> best promotion, he was able to put them with his reign and performance in contention for the 2nd<\/sup> place of best wrestling promotion in Puerto Rico. In his reign, he was able to defend his championship outside of Puerto Rico \u2013 against AAW Heritage Champion Zema Ion<\/strong>, Robbie E<\/strong> & Mike Mendoza<\/strong> \u2013 while at the same time win championships in Panam\u00e1 and M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n

CKCW To Air First iPPV Event\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Remember all the buzz that Eric Bischoff<\/strong> created for Cleveland Knights Championship Wrestling<\/strong>? Well\u2026 things are going to get more interesting.<\/p>\n

CKCW<\/strong>, who is a second home for Puerto Rican talent<\/a> and had its best show since they opened just last month, will be broadcasting their New World Rising event on iPPV<\/a>. The event is being heavily promoted since rumors of \u201cEric Bischoff\u2019s part-ownership\u201d came to light and a confusion in twitter led people to believe that the company was really going to have a new influx of money by the former WCW<\/strong> & WWE legend. Even though that\u2019s not the case, the company will be having an interesting show. CKCW will be mixing Eric\u2019s controversial personal with notable indie workers and Puerto Rican talent \u2013 CKCW regulars. At this moment, names that are confirmed for the show are: J-Rocc<\/strong> (CKCW Heavyweight Champion), Vanilla Vargas (CKCW Women Champion), Warlord<\/strong>, Impact talent Kongo Kong<\/strong>, The Barbarian<\/strong>, Tracey Smothers<\/strong> and Eric Bischoff.<\/p>\n
