According to Satin&#8217;s report, all three were on a scouting mission for a venue &#8211; reportedly down to Ontario, California (home of this fall&#8217;s Bullet Club Invasion of <em><strong>Monday Night Raw<\/strong><\/em>), Chicago, San Francisco, or London, England. Sure, tournaments such as <strong>PWG<\/strong>&#8216;s <em><strong>Battle of Los Angeles<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>NJPW<\/strong>&#8216;s <em><strong>Best of the Super Juniors<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>wXw<\/strong>&#8216;s <em><strong>16k Gold<\/strong> <\/em>or <strong>CHIKARA<\/strong>&#8216;s <em><strong>King of Trios<\/strong><\/em> are essentially indie supercards of some diverse stars, actual Supercards featuring cohesion from multiple promotions isn&#8217;t as common. Most of the past ones have been memorial cards, such as the <strong>Brian Pillman Memorial<\/strong> shows from 1998 to 2001, <strong>Ted Petty\u00a0<\/strong><b>Invitational<\/b>\u00a0in <strong>IWA Mid South<\/strong>, or many of the inter-promotional events in Japan like 2000&#8217;s <strong>Rikidozan Memorial Show<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But if Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks are self financing the event, they would be able to book anyone they wanted, as long as they were legally available to work for them (so pretty much excluding any WWE involvement). So who does that mean? Apart from the Ring of Honor talent that could be involved, who else could show up?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10015\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10015\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10015\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/okada-vs-cody-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/okada-vs-cody-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/okada-vs-cody-1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10015\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: NJPW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The obvious choice, considering the three men and Ring of Honor&#8217;s current relationship\/alliance with NJPW, you can almost 100% guarantee there will be NJPW talent at the show. At the very least, their Elite team mate and IWGP United States Champion <strong>Kenny Omega<\/strong> for one. Don&#8217;t rule out an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team title match for the Bucks, although they could just as easily defend the Ring of Honor 6-Man titles alongside <strong>&#8220;Hangman&#8221; Adam Page<\/strong>. The sky&#8217;s the limit on the NJPW stars that could be a part of this event.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>IMPACT WRESTLING<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10017\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10017\" style=\"width: 361px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10017\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/Tanahashi01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"361\" height=\"543\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/Tanahashi01.jpg 361w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/Tanahashi01-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/Tanahashi01-279x420.jpg 279w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10017\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tanahashi in TNA (Photo: Impact Wrestling)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This may seem an odd choice, but it&#8217;s been reported the past few months that Anthem Entertainment, led by <strong>Impact Wrestling<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0<strong>Scott D&#8217;Amore<\/strong>, has been working on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwinsider.com\/ViewArticle.php?id=113261\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">repairing past working relationships<\/a> with promotions that may have soured on past ownership\/management of TNA\/Impact Wrestling, most notably NJPW and Ring of Honor. Early in TNA&#8217;s genesis, they worked alongside Ring of Honor, using such ROH stars as <strong>AJ Styles, Samoa Jo<\/strong>e and <strong>CM Punk<\/strong> with fluid agreement. Around 2010, Impact also had a working relationship with NJPW, which saw such stars as <strong>Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito, Hiroshi Tanahashi<\/strong> and even <strong>Shinsuke Nakamura<\/strong> appear on Impact Wrestling. Both soured during regime changes and the three haven&#8217;t worked together in years since. If no titles are on the line for the Young Bucks, a Young Bucks vs. <strong>The World&#8217;s Cutest Tag Team<\/strong> (Joey Ryan &amp; Candice LeRae) Part Two wouldn&#8217;t exactly be terrible. They could even assemble Champion vs. Champion non-title matches, like <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong> Champion <strong>Nicole Savoy<\/strong> vs. <strong>SHINE<\/strong> Champion <strong>LuFisto<\/strong>, or <strong>AAW<\/strong> Champion <strong>Rey Fenix<\/strong> vs. PWG World Champion <strong>Ricochet<\/strong> (if he hasn&#8217;t joined WWE yet). The sky is literally the limit with independent financiers footing the bill. And with the recent <strong>#TenPoundsofGold<\/strong> tour of <strong>NWA<\/strong> World Heavyweight Champion <strong>Tim Storm<\/strong> currently strolling through indie events from <strong>Championship Wrestling From Hollywood<\/strong> to <strong>House of Hardcore<\/strong> to <strong>CZW<\/strong>, an NWA title match isn&#8217;t exactly out of the cards either. And depending on the date of the event &#8211; and whether he&#8217;s made his return by then &#8211; could this be the potential site of Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega Part II (or another dream match, like Jericho vs. <strong>Dalton Castle<\/strong>)?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Young Bucks vs Lucha Brothers | May 5 Tijuana | THE CRASH 4K ULTRA HD VIDEO\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FsqEs6P-1uw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Regardless the outcome, this is a case of pro wrestlers beginning to take control of not only their own careers, but the quills to begin to narrate the manifesto of pro wrestling&#8217;s future. Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks putting their money where their mouths are and are three of the hungriest, most innovative talents and businessmen on the indie circuit.
