It’s official. Wade Barrett and his return to WWE will have a far longer stay than expected as he has signed a new deal to be apart of the NXT commentary desk for the foreseeable future. The deal comes almost a month after he shockingly returned to the company in an unannounced role, seemingly filling in for Mauro Ranallo on the commentary team in NXT. Here is WWE’s official announcement about Barrett’s signing.

The NXT commentary team will be made up of Barrett, Vic Joseph, and Beth Phoenix moving forward after Ranallo and WWE parted ways. Barrett’s addition has been a well-liked one by many fans, especially those who had heard his commentary chops during his time with the NWA earlier this year.
As Wade Barrett can now really dig into his position, getting even more accustomed to the talent and should only be expected to get even better moving forward. Of course, there will be those who will ask if the 40-year-old will be willing to step back into the ring sometime in the future. Time will tell if there is someone in NXT willing to get in the face of the former bare-knuckle boxer. For now, enjoy his commentary on Wednesday nights.
