*Spoilers* Is Your Opera Cup Winner

Opera Cup

MLW has been at the forefront of history this year with partnerships across many different countries. In these partnerships, tournaments were also part of the new wave of talent and in a tournament to determine the best, that was brought back for the first time in over 70+ Years. A tournament won by Stu Hart was brought back labeled the “Opera Cup”. Today, we bring you the results of this. These are spoilers from MLW’s Recent Tapings.

The tournament featured eight people, and Low Ki replace Shinjiro Otani who couldn’t make it to the show. In the opening round, Brian Pillman Jr def. TJP. MJF would lose to Hammerstone, Timothy Thatcher would defeat Richard Holiday and Davey Boy Smith Jr would defeat Low Ki.

All four semi-finalists would be a Hammerstone, Pillman Jr, Thatcher and Davey Boy would be the semi-finalists. Pillman Jr would achieve a major upset defeating Timothy Thatcher and Davey Boy Smith Jr would defeat Hammerstone to go on to the finals. In the finals of the tournament, Davey Boy Smith Jr would face off against Brian Pillman Jr in the main event of these tapings

After a bout that went 15+ minutes and featured a very hot crowd, who were waiting for one of these two to carry on the Hart Legacy in MLW by winning this tournament, Davey Boy Smith Jr would win the tournament by tapping him out with a crossface and becoming the 2019 Opera Cup Winner. After the match between those two, Davey would give respect to his fellow Hart Comrade and celebrate as the winner of 2019 Opera Cup.

It is quite unknown what this tournament could give in terms of potential title shots. Smith defeated Hammerstone (MLW Openweight Champion) so there’s potential in an eventual rematch for the title or he could face off against World Champion Jacob Fatu. The one thing that is sure is Davey Boy Smith is making the Harts Proud.
