PROGRESS looks to follow up the fantastic NPS/Still chasing doubleheader that saw them elevate new stars like Scotty Davis, Cara Noir and more while also changing every title in the company. PROGRESS Chapter 96 True Friends Stab You In The Front features some new names mixing it up with NXT UK stars as part of an exciting Chapter show.
TK Cooper vs Roy Johnson
Another fresh start for TK Cooper after disposing of Travis Banks after some friction within the South Pacific Power Trip. He takes on a returning Roy Johnson whose biggest PROGRESS feud to date came against Cooper when he and Jack Sexsmith took on the SPPT. Can these two rekindle that magic and make their mark at PROGRESS Chapter 96?
Young Guns (Ethan Allen & Luke Jacobs) vs Pretty Deadly (Lewis Howley & Sam Stoker)
Two tag teams that have been making waves in the British indie scene this year collide in their PROGRESS debuts. PD have the experience edge as Stoker especially has been around for a few years and is something of a tag specialist. This should be an exciting match as both teams will look to make their mark in one of the biggest companies in the scene.
Cara Noir vs Ilja Dragunov
Cara Noir has made his way into PROGRESS like a house on fire after a great performance at the NPS tournament and then followed up by taking Pete Dunne to the limit at Chapter 95. He now goes up against another of PROGRESS’ best in Ilja Dragunov. The NXT UK star will relentlessly bombard Noir in a way that Noir has never experienced before. Can Noir overcome this new challenge or will he come up short at PROGRESS Chapter 96?
Toni Storm vs Dani Luna
Another NXT UK star takes on an up and coming star of the UK scene as Toni Storm returns to PROGRESS to take on the rising star Dani Luna. Luna won her PROGRESS debut back at Chapter 93 but has not won since coming up short to former women’s champion Jordynne Grace and losing the Proteus rumble. Luna has been making her name in the UK scene in 2019 which has seen most of its top women stars like Storm get signed leaving room for new stars to move up. At PROGRESS Chapter 96 the leader of this new generation takes on the first-ever PROGRESS women champion
PROGRESS Tag Team Championships: Jordan Devlin & Scotty Davis (C) vs Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake)
Davis and Devlin shockingly left Chapter 95 with the tag team titles despite not even being scheduled to compete. Davis cashed in his NPS title opportunity to add them to the match between GYV and Aussie Open. GYV wasn’t happy with this surprise and will hope to fare better in this rematch now that they know who they’ll be facing.
Proteus Championship: Paul Robinson (C) vs Travis Banks
Paul Robinson walked out of Chapter 95 as the first-ever Proteus champion. As per the title’s stipulation, he got to choose the stipulation under which all of his title matches would be contested. He chose KO or Submission only matches and makes his first defense against someone very good at both in former PROGRESS Champion Travis Banks. A former PROGRESS world champion Banks will be no easy customer here but Robinson will be confident he can get the win and make defense number one.
