Mark Dallas Announces New ICW Commissioner
After making her debut in the late 2000’s, Carmel would become one of the biggest female stars in the UK, wrestling for the likes of Premier British Wrestling (PBW), British Championship Wrestling (BCW), and World Wide Wrestling League (W3L), eventually debuting for ICW in 2010. Her battles with Nikki Storm (now Nikki Cross) and Kay Lee Ray made her one of the pioneers of ICW’s women’s division, but it wasn’t just the women she went after. The no-nonsense Carmel would also have battles with her male counterparts, namely Jack Jester and Mikey Whiplash.
A rivalry with real-life husband Liam Thomson led to a sensational match between the pair at the 5th Annual Square Go! in January 2016, the same month that saw Carmel capture the ICW Women’s Championship. Successful defences against the likes of Sammii Jayne, Kasey, Viper, and Courtney (now Isla Dawn) followed, before she eventually lost the title to Kay Lee Ray at Fear & Loathing IX after 322 days with the title around her waist (the longest in the title’s history). After that match, Carmel announced her retirement from the ring, bringing an end to the career of one of Scotland’s greatest performers.
She would be inducted into the ICW Hall of Fame as the inaugural inductee a few months later but aside from that and a guest enforcer role at Fear & Loathing X, we haven’t seen Carmel inside an ICW ring. However, with the Hall of Famer now residing as the Commissioner, it could make for some interesting moments. Let’s see what The Pipebomb Princess has to offer with this new position.
