#AndNEW: Orange Cassidy Regains Indie Title Amid Controversy

Orange Cassidy

Beyond Wrestling threw a surprise show in Boston on Sunday, that saw former Independent Wrestling Champion Orange Cassidy get a rematch against current champion Kris Statlander, as well as another challenger, Kimber Lee, in a No DQ Triple Threat for the title. In a controversial finish, just when it seemed Statlander had Orange Cassidy in her sights for the win, Kimber Lee attacked Statlander with the title belt, and helped Cassidy regain the title, becoming the first 2x Independent Wrestling Champion and ending Statlander’s brief reign at just 14 days.

Orange Cassidy Regains Indie Title Amid Controversy

It will be interesting to see this addressed this coming week on Beyond’s Uncharted Territory, as Statlander will be looking for answers, especially concerning why Kimber Lee helped Orange Cassidy – who both go way back from their days in CHIKARA – instead of going for the belt herself. But before she can look too deep into the controversial end to her title reign, she was challenged by none other than Joey Janela himself for this Wednesday’s episode.
