#AndNEW: John Silver Wins CZW Best of the Best, CZW World Championship

This past Saturday, the Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) World Heavyweight Championship was on the line, as reigning champion Mance Warner entered the Best of the Best 18 tournament, with his title being defended in every match-up. It proved to be a tough task to retain, as the title changed hands three times over the course of the tournament. In the first round, Warner lost the title when Anthony Greene won their opening round Fatal Four Way against House of Glory Champion Anthony Gangone, B-Boy and champion Mance Warner.

It was a short reign for Greene though, as he lost the title in the next round against David Starr. It became Starr’s second World Championship win of 2019, after winning the IPW World Championship in England recently.

As the new CZW World Heavyweight Champion, David Starr made it into the finals with hopes of retaining and becoming the first back to back BOTB winner in CZW history, but unfortunately, John Silver had other plans. The two stars of Beyond Wrestling clashed in the finals – Starr’s third BOTB finals appearance – but the Beaver Boy proved he was as dominant in singles action as he is in tag team action with Alex Reynolds, defeating Starr to win the CZW World Heavyweight Championship and claiming the victory for Best of the Best 18.
