On Friday night in Seattle at DEFY Wrestling‘s Dragon Spirit, Shane Strickland announced that it was his last appearance for the company he’s been a huge part of since 2017 and a former 2x DEFY World Champion. He made the announcement after losing to Darby Allin in a gruelling No DQ match. But the one thing he didn’t say was where his destination was – although the only two real options would be WWE/NXT or Ring of Honor/NJPW, as both All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and IMPACT Wrestling would allow him to still perform with the company.

Shane Strickland was previously linked to a move to the WWE for NXT late last year and was expected to be announced with the February class this year, that included Trevor Lee, ACH, and Karen Q, but a snag was seemingly hit with his Lucha Underground contract (where he performed as Killshot). With those now behind him, he is free to sign elsewhere, which he apparently has.
