As the Road to WrestleMania 34 heats up, one of the most popular characters in the WWE today still does not have a match up for “The Showcase of the Immortals”. Former 2x WWE United States Champion Rusev has seen a career resurgence with his “Happy Rusev Day” gimmick, yet he’s yet to have a true feud that will lead to a match on The Grandest Stage of Them All (although some rumors seem to point to a potential turn from Aiden English that could result in a match at WrestleMania 34). But an interesting and fun exchange via Twitter could have set some wheels in motion that could lead to at the very least, a fun interaction at WrestleMania and it involves the star of the popular Home Alone film franchise, Macaulay Culkin. Is Rusev vs Macaulay Culkin a possibility?
Rusev vs Macaulay Culkin at WrestleMania 34?
Last week, Rusev posted a Tweet where he suggested that maybe he needs a Celebrity to face in order to get himself on the WrestleMania 34 card, something that WWE has done in the past with the likes of Big Show vs Floyd Mayweather, Roddy Piper vs Mr. T, or involvements from the likes of Cyndi Lauper to Shaquille O’Neal.
I need a celebrity to fight me at #WrestleMania34 ! #RusevDay

One of the first to chime in was former WWE World Champion The Rock, who had his own idea of who Rusev could face – one of Dwayne Johnson’s former co-stars.
Kevin Hart. He’ll put you over but you gotta kayfabe his STD

Many people suggested Arrow star Stephen Amell, who has appeared for the WWE before in a match against Cody Rhodes when he was Stardust (and has since joined Cody as an honorary member of Bullet Club), but Amell was quick to shoot down any involvement.
Please stop suggesting me. I am terrified of this person. https://t.co/WlMTZ1lDYn

But the following day, Rusev’s celebrity challenge came from an unlikely opponent, in 37-year old former child actor Macaulay Culkin.
I'll take you on. Back alley brawl?

BREAKING NEWS: I am officially accepting @RusevBUL challenge to wrestle him at this year's Wrestlemania. You heard it here first, folks.
Come at me, bro!
— Macaulay Culkin (@IncredibleCulk) March 16, 2018
What resulted was a fun interaction between the two, as Rusev didn’t want to hit the actor, but Culkin insisted his challenge was real.
I cannot Hit Little Kevin McAllister or Richie Rich ! https://t.co/9hvTfXUB6V

It's cool. I'd be doing all the hitting anyway. #youjustgotculked https://t.co/aZOz8LVthV

Does Rusev give up, or is he thirty for more?? #youjustgotculkedagain!! https://t.co/6ifnFVt5d0

While it’s most likely just playful bantering on Social Media, the story was picked up by several mainstream news organizations, such as TIME Magazine and The Sun UK. But interestingly enough, the story was also picked up and acknowledged by the WWE itself, who posted their own take on the challenge.
While it seems ridiculous to suggest that someone so much smaller than Rusev would even be considered for a match against someone like Rusev, it’s not like Culkin is a stranger to pro wrestling. Last December he made mainstream news with his appearance with Joey Ryan‘s Bar Wrestling in California, when he appeared at ringside – in full “grown up” Kevin McAllister mode – and assisted Joey Ryan, Candice LeRae and Dick Justice in true Home Alone fashion pick up the victory over HATE (Peter Avalon & Ray Rosas) and former WWE Superstar Hornswoggle.

While Macaulay Culkin will probably not end up his opponent at WrestleMania 34, with all the mainstream attention to the challenge, the WWE may find a way for Macaulay Culkin’s most famous character to potentially show up in New Orleans and cause some truly Kevin shenanigans somewhere in Rusev’s match.
