Each season of \u201cTell me a story I don\u2019t\u201d always features fresh new interviews with so many wonderful stories. Over the next two episodes we feature ten of those stories starting with part one. Five great guests and as usual with five great stories.<\/p>\n
Jason Benetti,\u00a0<\/strong>the television voice of the White Sox, actually has the distinction of being in both episodes and with good reason: he\u2019s a great story teller. In this one he talks about where his sense of humor came from and it was from his parents.<\/p>\n \u201cI was a good student, probably too polite sometimes like there was really no edge so except, I would go home and my parents and I would watch like Robin Williams and George Carlin and Dennis Miller and Dennis Miller.<\/em>\u201d It sure paid off in his broadcast career.<\/p>\n In Ryan Baker\u2019s case,<\/strong> the laughs were on him. Back in 1989 while a student at The University of Illinois Baker, no the morning news host on the CBS affiliate in Chicago couldn\u2019t believe a friend of his was picking Kansas to win the NCAA championship.<\/p>\n \u201cAre you crazy\u201d Baker blurted out. \u201cI said if Kansas wins the national championship I\u2019ll run buck naked at high noon at the quad,\u201d<\/em> where they lived. So, of course Kansas won it all and Baker, almost true to his word ran, stripped down to his skivvies wearing a pair of Air Jordan\u2019s and a down coat. Oh if only we had a picture of that.<\/p>\n The other three stories come Cassidy Hubbarth of ESPN, <\/strong>who discusses her well prepared and produced commencement speech to her high school, Evanston Township in suburban Chicago. She streamed it and it was a big hit.<\/p>\n Hall of fame NHL defenseman Chris Chelios<\/strong> talks about his broadcast career, now also with ESPN, which he never really thought about after he retired at age 48 following a 26 year career.<\/p>\n And finally, Greg Gumbel, the host of the NCAA Men\u2019s Basketball tournament for the last 26 years on CBS.<\/p>\n \u201cPlum job is probably putting it lightly.
