\nWeek 2 of the college football season gave West Coast fans plenty to cheer about\u2014and worry about. On the latest episode<\/a> of Get Off My Pylon<\/em>, host Matt Zemek<\/a> broke down the highlights, the struggles, and what\u2019s ahead for programs across the region.<\/p>\n

Oregon Dominates, But Against Weak Competition In Week 2<\/h2>\n

Oregon looked unstoppable in its 69\u20133 thrashing of Oklahoma State. Dante Moore led a sharp Ducks offense while the defense held firm. Still, as Zemek cautioned, Oklahoma State may be one of the worst Power Four teams in the country. The Ducks\u2019 true test will come later this month against Northwestern, which, while no powerhouse, should offer a clearer picture of where Oregon really stands.<\/p>\n

UCLA\u2019s Hot Seat Heats Up<\/h2>\n

While Oregon soared in Week 2, UCLA sank. Under new head coach DeShaun Foster, the Bruins have fallen behind early in both games this season, showing poor preparation and sloppy execution. Fans and analysts alike see a program without direction, and Zemek believes the chances of a bowl game are already slim. With heavyweights like Penn State, Ohio State, and USC ahead, UCLA\u2019s season could spiral quickly.<\/p>\n

USC, Washington, and the Mountain West<\/h2>\n

USC\u2019s offense looked strong in its 59\u201320 win over Georgia Southern, but defensive lapses kept the Trojans from pulling away even more. Washington rolled past UC Davis but didn\u2019t inspire much confidence against Colorado State earlier. Fresno State edged Oregon State in a nail-biter, while Washington State\u2019s comfortable win over San Diego State showed promise. In the Mountain West, neither Boise State nor UNLV looks dominant yet, leaving the race wide open.<\/p>\n

As Zemek summed up, it\u2019s too early to hand out sweeping verdicts, but trends are starting to take shape. Oregon looks real, UCLA looks lost, and USC still has plenty of questions on defense. Week three will bring more answers\u2014and maybe more drama.<\/p>\n
