Going through the rankings and picking the right running back for your fantasy football lineup is never easy, and now it\u2019s very much a do-or-die situation. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JohnTy02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ty Johnson<\/a><\/strong> came out of nowhere to put up a huge Week 13, but can he do it again?<\/p>\n<p>Note that these rankings are for PPR scoring formats. However, fortune favors the bold, and all signs point towards a huge week. He\u2019s still averaging 30.1 PPR points per game and played in 71% of the offensive snaps during his previous return from injury. With <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=MoorD.00,MoorDJ99&amp;search=D.J.+Moore&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">D.J. Moore<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SamuCu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Curtis Samuel<\/a><\/strong> on the COVID list, McCaffrey is going to see an absurd amount of targets and be the best running back in fantasy once again.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s December and Derrick Henry faces off against a truly atrocious Jacksonville Jaguars defense. What else needs to be said? Dalvin Cook should feast in a high-scoring contest against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has notably slowed down in recent weeks. Aaron Jones is a fantastic talent in a high-powered offense against a bad defense \u2013 don\u2019t overthink this one.<\/p>\n<p>Since returning from injury, Austin Ekeler has averaged 12.5 targets per game. Look for him to be far more efficient against a bad Atlanta Falcons defense. James Robinson, meanwhile, will continue to be his ever-reliable self with his guaranteed massive workload.<\/p>\n<h4>Tier 2: RB1 Upside<\/h4>\n<p>7. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarsCh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Carson<\/a><br \/>\n8. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ChubNi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Chubb<\/a><br \/>\n9. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GallWa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayne Gallman<\/a><br \/>\n10. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KamaAl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alvin Kamara<\/a><br \/>\n11. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneRo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ronald Jones<\/a><br \/>\n12. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TaylJo02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Taylor<\/a><br \/>\n13. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/ElliEz00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ezekiel Elliott<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Update: David Montgomery belongs in this tier<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Seattle\u2019s offense hasn\u2019t looked quite right in recent weeks, but you still don\u2019t want to bet against <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WilsRu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russell Wilson<\/a><\/strong>. Carson has the workload to be a star if the offense starts scoring points at a high rate. Nick Chubb is a lock for 15-20 touches and should make magic with his opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Gallman continues to be everything <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BarkSa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Saquon Barkley<\/a><\/strong> owners hoped for this season. He\u2019s the RB6 since Week 7, and the workload should be there for the rest of the season. Alvin Kamara is still a great talent, but his ceiling is limited with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HillTa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taysom Hill<\/a><\/strong> refusing to throw checkdowns. Ronald Jones is not a gifted receiver, but he\u2019s a great runner and should find his way into the endzone once or twice.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Taylor is finally starting to get the hang of life in the NFL. Last week, the rookie recorded 91 rushing yards to go along with 44 receiving yards and a touchdown. He faces a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders and should continue his late-season surge. Ezekiel Elliott continues to disappoint, but should have a solid bounce-back week against a terrible Cincinnati Bengals team.<\/p>\n<h4>Tier 3: Solid RB2<\/h4>\n<p>14. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GaskMy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Myles Gaskin<\/a><br \/>\n15. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DrakKe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kenyan Drake<\/a><br \/>\n16. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DobbJK00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">J.K. However, Miami\u2019s pedestrian offense isn\u2019t great for fantasy football purposes. Kenyan Drake sees the majority of Arizona\u2019s touches but the offense hasn\u2019t played as well ever since <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MurrKy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyler Murray<\/a><\/strong> injured his shoulder. J.K. Dobbins is fantastic every time he touches the ball and is starting to earn a larger share of the work.<\/p>\n<p>Raheem Mostert is back, and <strong>Kyle Shanahan<\/strong> is using him as the featured guy. This could change on a weekly basis, but for now he\u2019s a solid start. Melvin Gordon sees the valuable touches in Denver\u2019s low-scoring offense, which makes him good enough for a flex play. Kareem Hunt is the second-fiddle to Nick Chubb, but Cleveland\u2019s run-heavy attack allows both to have fantasy value. Assuming <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=GibsAn00,GibsAn20&amp;search=Antonio+Gibson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antonio Gibson<\/a><\/strong> doesn\u2019t play, J.D. McKissic is a smash-play in PPR leagues.<\/p>\n<p>Giovani Bernard has complete control of his backfield, but it\u2019s hard to get too excited about anyone in Cincinnati\u2019s offense. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will play more in Week 14 than he did in Week 13, but he\u2019s still looking at an RB2 ceiling. Philadelphia has a bad offense, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HurtJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jalen Hurts<\/a><\/strong> starting means that Miles Sanders won\u2019t see that many targets.<\/p>\n<p>Even with Jonathan Taylor breaking out, Nyheim Hines will see a decent amount of targets from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RivePh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philip Rivers<\/a><\/strong>. Ty Johnson stole the show last week, and should be in position to do it again.<\/p>\n<p>Todd Gurley is back, but he\u2019s going to be splitting work with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HillBr02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brian Hill<\/a><\/strong>. Devontae Booker isn\u2019t <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JacoJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Jacobs<\/a><\/strong> and isn\u2019t a one-for-one substitute. Much to the annoyance of Alvin Kamara owners, Latavius Murray will get his fair share of touches in this one.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to start a Buffalo running back, make it Devin Singletary. Ditto for the Rams with Cam Akers, although you probably want to stay away from the whole situation.
