I think we can all agree to be thankful that football is still in our lives as we head into the holiday season. But with all of the injuries this year, and the continual surprise of players being added to the COVID-19 list, you don\u2019t want to make the wrong decisions going into a week with not one, but <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">three<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Thursday games. So which players have some unfavorable matchups that you should avoid going into Week 12 fantasy football? Here\u2019s a rundown of the key players in the top three skill positions that you should<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stay away from this week as we arrive in the homestretch before the fantasy playoffs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Week 12 Fantasy Football: Top Fade Players<\/h2>\n<h3><b>\u201cFade\u201d Quarterback of the Week<\/b><b>:<\/b><b><i> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=JackLa00,JackLa02&amp;search=Lamar+Jackson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lamar Jackson<\/a><\/i><\/b><b>, Baltimore Ravens<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We all know that Lamar Jackson, as incredibly gifted as he is and continues to be on the football field, just hasn\u2019t translated into the fantasy stud that everyone expected him to be this year. Jackson\u2019s floor remains consistent and has the potential to \u201cboom\u201d almost anytime due to his running abilities, but this week just doesn\u2019t look great for the 2019 Most Valuable Player. Playing their division rival <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/steelers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> in a \u2018must-win\u2019 game, the Ravens have their work cut out for them against the league\u2019s best defense on Thanksgiving evening. And now <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/fantasy\/football\/news\/fantasy-football-mark-ingram-j-k-dobbins-positive-covid-19-tests-make-gus-edwards-a-week-12-waiver-priority\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">without his top two running backs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Jackson will have to step up his game to keep the struggling Ravens\u2019 playoff hopes alive. While tallying one of his worst fantasy performances last time these two teams met in Week 8 (where Jackson turned the ball on four separate instances), expect the Steelers\u2019 defense to force Jackson into uncomfortable situations all night. This is the week to shy away from Lamar and start that quarterback you may have been itching to throw in your lineup recently that has big \u201cboom\u201d potential (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HillTa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taysom Hill<\/a>, anyone?).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other \u201cFade\u201d Quarterbacks for Week 12 Fantasy Football: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WentCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carson Wentz<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TannRy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Tannehill<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GoffJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jared Goff<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of these is not like the others. Carson Wentz has looked unfathomably lackluster as of late and until Philadelphia dials up <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">something<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on offense, avoid Wentz like the grocery stores on Thanksgiving week during a pandemic. And yes, this advice stands even though the Eagles have an extremely advantageous matchup against a porous <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/seahawks\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seattle Seahawks<\/a> pass defense on Monday night. Ryan Tannehill and Jared Goff, however, are different stories. With both coming off impressive performances where they led their perspective teams to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">huge<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wins this past week, many people are looking to throw this pair into their lineups (see the previous paragraph). However, while these two quarterbacks have shown their value earlier on in the season (especially Tannehill), the Week 12 matchups are not the best for either of these signal-callers. With Tannehill going up against a Colts team that held him to just <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/game?gameId=401220203\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">147 yards passing in Week 10<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, this matchup looks rather daunting for the Titans\u2019 quarterback. And while Goff lit up the Buccaneers\u2019 secondary on Monday night, the sample size is way too small to feel confident firing him right away this week against a 49ers defense that, while banged up, should bring Goff\u2019s numbers back to earth in an intriguing division matchup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Carson Wentz is officially BROKEN.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dbOrOfVsVv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/dbOrOfVsVv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NFL_DovKleiman\/status\/1330618654795427841?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">November 22, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3><b>\u201cFade\u201d Running Back of the Week<\/b><b>: <\/b><b><i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SandMi01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miles Sanders<\/a>, <\/i><\/b><b>Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019d be nice to think that even in an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/sports\/eagles\/eagles-trail-cleveland-browns-in-the-4th\/2607541\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">offense that has dropped the ball<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as much as the Eagles have the past few weeks, that their explosive running back would <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at least <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be producing for your fantasy team. Yet, Miles Sanders seems to have fallen victim to dwindling fantasy value with the rest of Philly\u2019s players the past few weeks as the Eagles struggle to establish any consistent offensive play. Expect head coach <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PedeDo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doug Pederson<\/a><\/strong> to continue to put the ball in Wentz\u2019s hands next week, presumably game-scripting Sanders out of a good chunk of his normal usage (which is baffling as he is far and away their best weapon), as they attempt to keep up with <strong>Russell Wilson<\/strong> and the Seahawks\u2019 high-flying offense. With the powerful aerial attacks of Green Bay, New Orleans, and Arizona on the slate after Seattle, the Eagles are going to have trouble finding ways to get their star back involved as they quickly attempt to salvage any hopes of claiming that disastrous NFC East division.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other \u201cFade\u201d Running Backs for Week 12 Fantasy Football: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TaylJo02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Taylor<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GordMe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Melvin Gordon<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EdwaCl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clyde Edwards-Helaire<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While all three backs had solid performances last week, expect the matchup to overtake their value in Week 12. While Jonathan Taylor earned some hard yards last week, Green Bay\u2019s porous run defense isn\u2019t a great measure of success going forward. Expect more of the Colts\u2019 \u2018back-by-committee\u2019 to return against Tennessee next week. Melvin Gordon was able to sneak in two touchdowns against Miami in Week 11 (and also had a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2020\/11\/22\/broncos-game-balls-gassers-week-11-dolphins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">goal-line fumble<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that almost cost them the game), but Denver plays a Saints team next who haven\u2019t allowed a 100-yard rusher since 2017. Look for more of a committee with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LindPh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Phillip Lindsay<\/a><\/strong>, and the passing game to take precedent in this one as the Broncos attempt to keep up with a red-hot Saints team. Clyde Edwards-Helaire looked great on Sunday night against Las Vegas. But when going up against Tampa Bay\u2019s top-ranked rushing defense next week, Edwards-Helaire\u2019s value will drop substantially. CEH is too touchdown-dependent, and with Bell starting to find his way into the mix (he snagged a goal-line touchdown last week), it leaves even more doubt in this already unfavorable matchup that will likely revolve around the two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Melvin Gordon fumbles at the 1. Until we have a bigger sample size of what <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FinlRy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Finley<\/a><\/strong> can do, the new target share percentages and production values among Cincinnati\u2019s top three receivers are in question. I\u2019m not looking to start <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BoydTy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Boyd<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HiggTe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tee Higgins<\/a><\/strong>, or <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=GreeA.00,GreeAJ00&amp;search=A.J.+Green&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Green<\/a><\/strong> (in particular) with any type of certainty this week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other \u201cFade\u201d Wide Receivers for Week 12 Fantasy Football: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BrowMa04.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marquise Brown<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FulgTr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Travis Fulgham<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/nfl\/2018\/04\/15\/dj-chark-2018-nfl-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_self\"><strong>D.J. Chark<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arguably, all of these receivers are struggling due to weaker quarterback play than they have come accustomed to, but that is only part of the problem in most of these cases. While Lamar Jackson isn&#8217;t playing to his MVP level, Marquise Brown <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/fantasy\/football\/news\/ravens-marquise-brown-continues-downward-trajectory\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hasn\u2019t done anything<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to help his case this season either, logging another terrible performance with zero catches this past week against the Tennessee Titans. After Travis Fulgham exploded onto the scene as the Eagles\u2019 pass catchers dropped like flies earlier this year, he has done nothing with his steady target share the past two weeks (another fantasy value fading into the abyss due to Philadelphia\u2019s horrid offensive attack). And without Minshew in the mix, D.J.
