Another week of fantasy football action is in the books, as owners everywhere scour the waiver wire to find the best available defense streams. Looking around the league shows that defenses like the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles offer the best chance of positive performance in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
Note that, in order to be eligible for this list, the defenses needed to have a realistic shot of actually being available. Obviously, there is some variation from league to league, so make sure to peruse all available players before making your claims. There could be a better option available in your specific league.<\/p>\n
Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups: Running Back<\/a> – Wide Receiver<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0– Quarterback<\/a> – Defense<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Normally, a defense as good as the Buffalo Bills<\/a> wouldn\u2019t be eligible for this list. However, they played the Kansas City Chiefs this week, so there\u2019s a decent shot that they are available in your league. Buffalo\u2019s defense is good enough to start against (almost) any matchup, but they face the holy grail of matchups in Week 7.<\/p>\n The New York Jets are easily the worst offense in football, cursed with the ability to make any defense look like the 1985 Chicago Bears. They rank at or near the bottom of just about every offensive stat in the world, and are currently coming off a shutout against the Miami Dolphins. As of this posting, Adam Gase<\/strong> is still the head coach, which is great news for the Bills. However, even if the Jets move on, it\u2019s hard to imagine a new coach instilling any life into this hopeless offense.<\/p>\n The Philadelphia Eagles might not have an elite defense, but you don\u2019t need one of those to slow down the New York Giants. Daniel Jones<\/a><\/strong> has not taken the proverbial second-year leap, as head coach Joe Judge<\/strong> and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett<\/a><\/strong> appear to have completely halted his development. While not as juicy a matchup as the Jets, this is still a great defensive stream.<\/p>\n At this point in his career, Jones still holds on to the ball for too long and puts the ball in harms\u2019 way at too high a rate. The offensive line is one of the worst in the league, and Darius Slayton<\/a><\/strong> might miss the contest with an injury. This is a bad, mistake-prone offense and Philadelphia should be able to end the night with a couple turnovers and a handful of sacks.<\/p>\n What happens when a stoppable force meets an easily movable object? We\u2019ll find out when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Football Team. The Cowboys have what could easily be the worst defense in football, and should be widely available in your fantasy leagues. However, you don\u2019t need a good defense to stop Kyle Allen<\/a><\/strong> and the Washington Football Team.<\/p>\n Allen historically holds on to the football too long and doesn\u2019t have the arm to make half of the throws he attempts. Additionally, this team doesn\u2019t have any reliable weapons outside of Terry McLaurin<\/a><\/strong>. Dallas might not give you a week-winning performance, but they won\u2019t be the reason you lose.<\/p>\n Despite their Week 6 victory, it\u2019s hard to feel good about the Denver Broncos offense. Drew Lock<\/a> <\/strong>had a rough day at the office, completing just 10 of his 24 pass attempts for 189 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. K.J. Hamler<\/strong><\/a> and Noah Fant<\/a><\/strong> are both injured, so this offense doesn\u2019t have too many ways to move the ball. Kansas City has a solid defense, and their high-scoring offense could force Lock into playing catch-up and throwing some ill-advised passes.
