Looking around the league shows that defenses like the New England Patriots and New York Giants offer the best chance of positive performance in the coming weeks.

Note that, in order to be eligible for this list, the defense needed to be available in at least 50% of fantasy leagues. Obviously, there is some variation from league to league, so make sure to peruse all available defenses before making your claims. There could be a better option available in your specific league.

Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups: Wide Receiver – Running Back

New England Patriots, New York Giants Highlight Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire Defense Streams

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots made this list last week thanks to their fantastic matchup against the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, multiple positive COVID-19 tests forced the league to postpone the game until Week 6. Because of this, most fantasy owners dropped New England’s defense to stream another matchup. Now, it’s time to capitalize on that decision and pick them up for Week 6.

Drew Lock could be back for this one, but that shouldn’t matter too much. The Patriots will have Stephon Gilmore, and Lock hasn’t proven consistently capable of winning matchups against defenses like this. Lock or no, this is still a questionable offense trying to find their way with an underwhelming head coach. New England has a good shot of finishing as the top defense this week.

New York Giants

There is a chance that fantasy owners in your league didn’t drop New England’s defense. If that’s the case, then you’ll need to dig a little deeper. The New York Giants have one of the least-talented defenses in football and are almost guaranteed to be available in your league. Despite the lack of talent, the matchup makes them one of the best streaming options available.

The Giants face off against an absolutely atrocious Washington Football Team. Washington started Week 5 with Kyle Allen under center, but quickly switched to Alex Smith after Allen suffered an injury. Nobody knows who will start in Week 6, but that doesn’t really matter. Both quarterbacks are terrible, and the supporting cast isn’t good enough to overcome this lackluster duo. New York’s defense won’t have to do much of anything to slow down this offense and come away with a turnover or two.

Washington Football Team

Speaking of the New York Giants…The Washington Football Team do not have a good defense. However, that doesn’t seem to matter against the New York Giants. Daniel Jones looked a lot better in Week 5, but he still has some major flaws to his game. Specifically, he holds onto the ball way too long and has no pocket presence of which to speak. Washington’s above-average front seven should pressure the quarterback early and often, which is great news for fantasy. Additionally, New York’s underwhelming supporting cast probably won’t be able to consistently gain separation against Washington’s subpar secondary.

Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups: Wide Receiver – Running Back

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Fantasy Football Week 6 Defense Waiver Wire Streams: New England Patriots, New York Giants, Washington Football Team are top options.

[59
4069,294,61,38,92,40,1063,3160,6851
post-96089","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fantasy","tag-drew-lock","tag-fantasy-football","tag-football","tag-new-england-patriots","tag-new-york-giants","tag-nfl","tag-stephon-gilmore","tag-waiver-wire","tag-washington-football-team
["GET
