Selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Rosen spent the past two seasons on two of the worst rosters in recent memory. The Miami Dolphins are reportedly parting ways with Rosen, but he shouldn’t be out of a job for long. Several quarterback-needy teams should have an interest in bringing in the former top-10 pick to try and recapture his college magic.

Best Josh Rosen Team Fits

Pittsburgh Steelers

The 2020 Pittsburgh Steelers live and die with the right arm of Ben Roethlisberger. Normally this isn’t a big concern, as Roethlisberger is typically one of the better quarterbacks in the league. However, the former first-round pick is entering his age-38 season and is coming off a serious elbow injury. There’s no way to know whether or not he can recapture his old form, and even if he can, he’s not a long-term solution at the game’s most important position.

The Steelers played without Roethlisberger for the vast majority of 2019, giving Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges plenty of opportunities to become the quarterback of the future. Instead, both players fell flat on their face and combined to be arguably the worst quarterback duo in football. Rosen might not be the long-term fix at the position, but it can’t hurt to give it a try.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have perhaps the worst quarterback situation in the entire NFL. Mitchell Trubisky simply isn’t the answer under center, and Nick Foles has never managed to put together a full season of solid play. These two are holding back what is otherwise a pretty strong roster, and a new infusion of life could be just what this team news.

Nobody is suggesting that Josh Rosen is going to transform into a top-10 quarterback in a matter of weeks. However, it shouldn’t take much to be better than this duo. Chicago would easily be the best supporting cast Rosen’s ever had, and he might be able to put together some league-average play with Matt Nagy calling the shots and Allen Robinson catching the passes.

New England Patriots

Cam Newton is the guy for 2020, but what happens after that? The former first-overall pick is on a one-year deal, and the Patriots don’t have a clear plan for the future on the roster. Jarrett Stidham looked good in the 2019 preseason, but that’s an incredibly small sample. The former fourth-round pick had a rough training camp, so he’s anything but a shoo-in to be the quarterback of the future. There’s no such thing as too many good arms, so Rosen and Stidham can spend 2020 battling for the right to start in 2021.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went all-in for 2020, signing Tom Brady and then building around the superstar quarterback’s small championship window. This made Tampa Bay legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the short term, but it leaves them with a few questions down the road. The team moved on from Jameis Winston and they didn’t replace him with a younger arm. This means that, in two or three years, Tampa Bay is going to have to start their quarterback search all over again.

The Buccaneers can get a jump start on that process by adding Rosen to the mix. Tampa Bay’s current backup is Blaine Gabbert, and he obviously isn’t a long-term solution at quarterback. If Rosen doesn’t work out, then so be it. However, Bruce Arians knows how to get the best out of his quarterbacks, and spending a year or two in his system could be the best thing in the world for Rosen.

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly releasing quarterback Josh Rosen, but the former first-round pick shouldn’t be out of a job for long.

[54,23,4,5,9,29
442,153,136,367,42,61,4068,2598,2265,38,40,246,997,81,308,331
post-94214","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-bears","category-dolphins","category-patriots","category-steelers","category-buccaneers","tag-allen-robinson","tag-ben-roethlisberger","tag-blaine-gabbert","tag-cam-newton","tag-chicago-bears","tag-football","tag-jarrett-stidham","tag-josh-rosen","tag-mitchell-trubisky","tag-new-england-patriots","tag-nfl","tag-nfl-news","tag-nick-foles","tag-pittsburgh-steelers","tag-tampa-bay-buccaneers","tag-tom-brady
["GET
