LaCosse spent 2019 with the New England Patriots and projected as the top tight end on the team, at least entering the season. Without LaCosse, rookie tight ends <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2020\/04\/01\/devin-asiasi-2020-nfl-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Devin Asiasi<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2020\/06\/08\/new-england-patriots-sleepers-dalton-keene\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Dalton Keene<\/strong><\/a> would have battled incumbent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/I\/IzzoRy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Izzo<\/a><\/strong> for playing time. Leggett will join in that battle, although he\u2019s no sure thing to make the roster.<\/p>\n<p>Leggett spent the 2019 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After competing throughout camp, the former fifth-round pick couldn\u2019t make the 53-man roster out of camp and started the year on the practice squad. The team eventually promoted him to the active roster but didn\u2019t make it into any games. Eventually, the team parted ways with Leggett on July 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan Leggett initially entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the New York Jets, the Clemson product had a chance to immediately earn a starting job following a four-game suspension for incumbent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SefeAu00.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Austin Seferian-Jenkins<\/strong><\/a>. However, Leggett suffered a knee injury during the preseason and had to undergo season-ending surgery. Leggett returned to the field in 2018 and played in 15 games while making four starts. During his time on the field, the second-year pro recorded 14 receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown on 24 targets.
