In 2013, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/broncos\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Denver Broncos<\/a> produced <em>three<\/em> wideouts (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/ThomDe03.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Demaryius Thomas<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DeckEr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Decker<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WelkWe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Wes Welker<\/strong><\/a>) who all ended the season as the WR18 or better. Identifying the league&#8217;s best WR2 options is a huge advantage on draft day.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, there were four players that finished as a Top 24 PPR wideout (Weeks 1-16) despite not being the highest-scoring fantasy receiver on their own team:\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=EvanMi00,EvanMi20,EvanMi21&amp;search=Mike+Evans&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Evans<\/a> <\/strong>(WR11), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=WoodRo02,WoodRo21,WoodRo00&amp;search=Robert+Woods&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robert Woods<\/a><\/strong> (WR19), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RidlCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Calvin Ridley<\/a> <\/strong>(WR22), and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=JoneMa02,JoneMa23&amp;search=Marvin+Jones&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marvin Jones<\/a> <\/strong>(WR24).<\/p>\n<p>I examined the second-best wide receivers on every NFL team and rated them on a six-point scale for each of the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Athleticism<\/li>\n<li>Quarterback play<\/li>\n<li>Positional Competition<\/li>\n<li>Overall Team Target Competition<\/li>\n<li>History of Production<\/li>\n<li>Fantasy Upside<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Calculating an average score for each player, here are my WR2 Rankings in reverse order.<\/p>\n<p>(All statistics from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.playerprofiler.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PlayerProfiler<\/a>)<\/p>\n<h2>WR2 Rankings: Calvin Ridley, Jarvis Landry, and Others<\/h2>\n<p>32. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HarmKe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kelvin Harmon<\/a> <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/redskins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Redskins<\/a>): The second-year receiver from North Carolina State failed to impress as a rookie. Harmon tallied 30 receptions for 365 yards with no touchdowns. The former sixth-round pick has good size (6-foot-2, 221 lbs) but lacks the speed (4.60 40-Yard Dash) or athleticism (11.47 Agility Score) to instill much confidence. He did tally consecutive 1000 yard seasons for the Wolfpack and 20 of his catches occurred after <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HaskDw00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dwayne Haskins<\/a><\/strong> became the starting quarterback. Harmon will be pushed by explosive rookie <strong>Antonio Gandy-Golden<\/strong> as well as slot receivers <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SimsSt00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Steven Sims<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/Q\/QuinTr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trey Quinn<\/a><\/strong>. Haskins is a concern at quarterback and is likely to opt for safer passes to running backs <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GuicDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derrius Guice<\/a><\/strong> and versatile rookie <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/G\/GibsAn20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antonio Gibson<\/a><\/strong>. Too much competition for Harmon to make a worthwhile WR2 impact in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>31. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=MillAn00,MillAn02&amp;search=Anthony+Miller&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Miller<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/49ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Bears<\/a>): The former second-round pick from Memphis gets high athleticism marks for tremendous burst and agility, but has only produced 85 receptions over 31 games played the past two seasons. While much of that can be attributed to inconsistent quarterback play from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TrubMi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mitchell Trubisky<\/a>,<\/strong> it is unclear whether <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FoleNi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Foles<\/a> <\/strong>will be the key to unlock a third-year breakout. Miller flashed his potential with the overall WR7 and WR5 PPR performances in Weeks 13 and 15 but also totaled 11 weeks outside WR3 production. His lack of consistency and questionable quarterback play place him towards the bottom of this list.<\/p>\n<p>30. <strong>Brandon Aiyuk<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/49ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a>): The 49ers had the second-lowest passing rate among all NFL teams, but first-round draft capital combined with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SandEm00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Emmanuel Sanders<\/a>&#8216;<\/strong> departure give Aiyuk a chance for an immediate fantasy impact. The explosive Arizona State product should easily move ahead of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PettDa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dante Pettis<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>Jalen Hurd<\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BourKe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kendrick Bourne<\/a> <\/strong>on the San Francisco depth chart. While tight end <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KittGe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">George Kittle<\/a><\/strong> siphons the larget tight end target share (28.2%) in the NFL, Aiyuk has a chance to follow the schematic demonstrated by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SamuDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Deebo Samuel<\/a> <\/strong>last season. With the overall WR16 and WR2 performances in the last two games, Samuel proved that rookie wide receivers can be impactful at the most opportune time in fantasy football.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">There&#39;s a new WR in the Bay.<\/p>\n<p>And Brandon Aiyuk is ready to ball. \ud83d\ude08 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/49ers?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@49ers<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/THE2ERA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@THE2ERA<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jDEsP5eo8H\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/jDEsP5eo8H<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NFL (@NFL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NFL\/status\/1255957597812854790?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">April 30, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>29. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HarrNK00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">N&#8217;Keal Harry<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/patriots\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New England Patriots<\/a>): Obviously a huge downgrade at quarterback, but little target competition for the 2019 first-round pick for the Patriots. After missing nine games with an ankle sprain, Harry managed just 12 receptions but two touchdowns over New England&#8217;s final seven games, experiencing high variance in per game snap share. I love his athleticism (particularly his 81st percentile Catch Radius), but a lack of rookie production combined with unproven <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/StidJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jarrett Stidham<\/a> <\/strong>at quarterback keeps him at the bottom of the WR2 Rankings.<\/p>\n<p>28. <strong>Jerry Jeudy<\/strong> (Denver): The 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft enjoyed a huge junior year breakout season for Alabama. Jeudy totaled 68 receptions, 1315 yards, and 14 touchdowns for the eventual 2018 National Champions. The concerns with Jeudy are two-fold:\u00a0 target competition and quarterback play. Denver lead wideout <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SuttCo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Courtland Sutton<\/a><\/strong> produced a 26.1% target share in 2019, ranking Top 10 among all wide receivers. Also, tight end <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FantNo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Noah Fant<\/a> <\/strong>enjoyed a fantastic rookie campaign with two TE2 performances in the second half of the season. Denver also selected Penn State star <strong>K.J. Hamler<\/strong> in Round 2, leading to a crowded receiving core for unproven quarterback <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LockDr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drew Lock<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>27. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WestDe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dede Westbrook<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/jaguars\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>): As a card-carrying Dede Westbrook truther, it is painful to concede his breakout window is closing. Despite produced the exact same amount of receptions (66) and targets (101) as he did in 2018, despite seeing a massive increase in ADP (WR32 from WR60). The Jaguars spent a second-round pick on Colorado wide receiver <strong>Laviska Shenault,<\/strong> signed red zone tight end target <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EifeTy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Eifert<\/a><\/strong>, and reunited satellite back <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=ThomCh03,ThomCh05,ThomCh24&amp;search=Chris+Thompson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Thompson<\/a> <\/strong>with offensive coordinator <strong>Jay Gruden<\/strong>. The talented Westbrook has just two WR1 performances in the past two seasons making better WR2 options than this post-hype wideout entering his fourth season.<\/p>\n<p>26. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BoykMi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miles Boykin<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/ravens\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a>): Despite his low ranking, the uber-athletic Boykin has one of the biggest upsides of any receiver on this list. The second-year Notre Dame standout was used sparingly as a rookie with just 22 targets and 13 receptions in a full 16 games played. His 4.42 40-Yard Dash speed at 6-foot-4, 220 lbs with a 10.64 (99th percentile) Catch Radius bring a foundation that very few players on this list can match. Baltimore run-heavy attack only translated to the NFL&#8217;s lowest pass play opportunities at just 45.93 percent. Lead wide receiver<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BrowMa04.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marquise Brown<\/a><\/strong> managed just 71 targets on a 59 percent Snap Share in 14 games and lacks alpha receiver size at only 5-foot-9, 166 lbs. The biggest competition for targets comes from 2019 breakout tight end <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AndrMa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Andrews<\/a> <\/strong>(10 touchdowns) and third-round Texas speedster <strong>Devin Duvernay<\/strong>.\u00a0 League MVP <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JackLa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lamar Jackson<\/a>&#8216;s<\/strong> 66.1 percent completion percentage is encouraging, giving an unproven Boykin an extremely high-floor for a very low draft-day price.<\/p>\n<p>25. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DaviCo03.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Corey Davis<\/a><\/strong><b>\u00a0<\/b>(<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/titans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tennessee Titans<\/a>): Much more was expected from the fifth-overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. After 65 receptions, 891 yards, and four touchdowns in 2018, Davis took a step backward last season with just 43 receptions, 601 yards, and two touchdowns. Even worse, Davis&#8217;s production fell off even further when <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TannRy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Tannehill<\/a> <\/strong>took over as quarterback.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Not much hope remaining for former No. 5 overall pick Corey Davis<\/p>\n<p>Despite receiving the same amount of targets with Tannehill last season, his production was even worse. <\/p>\n<p>Even more reason to love Jonnu Smith in 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3NyJTZ2TqK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/3NyJTZ2TqK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; For The Numbers (@OldSchool0909) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OldSchool0909\/status\/1267275749410705410?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 1, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The only reason he makes No. 25 is the lack of target competition among the Titans&#8217; wideouts. However, the development of tight end <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SmitJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonnu Smith<\/a><\/strong> and dominance of wideout <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=override,BrowAJ00&amp;search=A.J.+Brown&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Brown<\/a><\/strong> keeps his upside severely capped. You would need to be the greatest of truthers to believe in Davis this season.<\/p>\n<p>24. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SamuCu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Curtis Samuel<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carolina Panthers<\/a>): At this time last year, there were viral GIFs of quarterback <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=NewtCa00,NewtCa20&amp;search=Cam+Newton&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cam Newton<\/a> <\/strong>connecting on deep passes with Curtis Samuel. This led to huge fantasy disappointment when Samuel produced just 54 receptions and 627 receiving yards despite a 91 percent Snap Share last season. His 4.31 40-Yard speed still reamins and his nine red zone receptions ranked 13th among all wide receivers. Ruggs&#8217; blazing 4.27 40-Yard Dash and 17.4 college yards per target are exactly what former owner Al Davis would want in a first-round pick.
