They will take on the AFC-leading New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Patriots are having another excellent season at 12-2, while the Jets are having a horrid season at 4-10. To make things worse, the Jets are dealing with 14 players currently on the injured reserve. And to top things off, the Patriots will be at home where they are nearly unbeatable in the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BradTo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tom Brady<\/a><\/strong> era. Still, crazier things have happened and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BowlTo20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Todd Bowles<\/a><\/strong> and company will be heading into Gillette Stadium with the goal of squeaking out a win against their bitter rivals.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2172\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">New York Jets Week 16 Keys to Victory<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2264\" class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2263\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">The Offensive Linemen Must Play at Their Highest Levels<\/span><\/h3>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2266\" class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2265\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">The offensive line has been sub-par and injured for most of the season. Last week <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PettBr01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryce Petty<\/a><\/strong> had two of the most powerful defensive ends in football hit him simultaneously. That cannot happen again. Right now Petty is not at 100%. Winters absence could make the offensive line even weaker than last week. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2282\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">Still, if Johnson, Ijalana, and Shell play at their highest levels, then Petty may have some time to throw this week. That is a lot to ask from these guys, but that is important for the Jets success this week.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">Brandon Marshall Needs to Rebound<\/span><\/h3>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2292\" class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2291\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">Considering the Jets are 4-10 and lack production from many positions, their receivers haven&#8217;t done too bad recently. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AndeRo04.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robby Anderson<\/a><\/strong> has been repaying the Jets for signing him as an undrafted free agent. He had 80 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EnunQu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quincy Enunwa<\/a><\/strong> had a 109-yard game against the Patriots in <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2016\/11\/28\/new-york-jets-week-twelve-takeaways\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Week 12<\/a> just a few weeks ago and had 64 yards against the Dolphins. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SefeAu00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Austin Seferian-Jenkins<\/a><\/strong> has even been getting some receptions in the last three games which seems unprecedented as offensive coordinator Chan Gailey does not typically use tight ends in his offense. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2291\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">While all these young receivers have done their job recently, veteran <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=MarsBr00,MarsBr01&amp;search=Brandon+Marshall&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandon Marshall<\/a><\/strong> has struggled. Marshall hasn&#8217;t had a 100-yard game since <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2016\/10\/10\/new-york-jets-week-five-takeaways\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Week Five<\/a>. His last touchdown came in Week 12 against the Patriots. His 16 yards on Saturday was his second lowest amount of the season.<span class=\"yiv3067110516Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2317\" class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2316\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">It&#8217;d be hard for Marshall to perform worse than last week. Also it is promising that he already put up 67 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots this year. Marshall hasn&#8217;t been doing much with Petty under center so far. Marshall and Petty will have to get on the same page if they want a shot at beating the Patriots.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">The Secondary Has to Show Up<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2324\" class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2323\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2016\/12\/18\/new-york-jets-week-15-takeaways\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Week 15<\/a> featured <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MoorMa01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt Moore<\/a><\/strong>, a backup who hadn&#8217;t started a game since Week 17 of 2011, passing for four touchdowns and 236 yards against the Jets. Knowing that, it will be scary to see what Brady will do against the Jets. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv3067110516p1\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1482448395025_2323\" class=\"yiv3067110516s1\">While Brady is coming off his worst game of the year in regards to quarterback rating (68.2), it was against the tough Denver Broncos defense. The Jets are 21st in the NFL in passing yards allowed with 3,525.
