J. Green, Corner<\/h3>\n<p><strong>A. J. Green<\/strong> stated he has a \u201cmountain on my shoulder\u201d after going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. Coming from Oklahoma State, Green was a finalist to win the Jim Thorpe Award, which went to his new Cleveland Browns teammate, <strong>Grant Delpit<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandbrowns.com\/news\/undrafted-cb-a-j-green-coming-to-browns-with-a-mountain-on-my-shoulder\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Green further stated<\/a>, \u201cWatching the draft, I <span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-3FD9F77D71732FA1C483E052B1E9AA6D\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"PASSIVE_VOICE\" data-pwa-category=\"style\" data-pwa-hint=\"Passive verbs make your writing less direct. An offer that included a <a href=\"https:\/\/brownswire.usatoday.com\/2020\/04\/26\/browns-give-undrafted-cb-a-j-green-a-whopping-bonus-to-sign\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">guaranteed income of $145,000<\/a>. While this may sound small considering 2020 NFL standards, it\u2019s a monster deal for an undrafted rookie free agent.<\/p>\n<p>Many experts, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/prospects\/alvin-green\/32194752-4503-6393-4770-063e2747ebd8\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NFL.com\u2019s Lance Zierlein<\/a>, had a fourth or fifth-round grade on Green. Don\u2019t <span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-ABE9A4583002956FC1EF50D7D8C13F45\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"PASSIVE_VOICE\" data-pwa-category=\"style\" data-pwa-hint=\"Passive verbs make your writing less direct. Of the Browns\u2019 linebackers, only <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WilsMa03.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mack Wilson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is a clear-cut starter<span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-05FE6E3AC51E410BF6133397F57AAA61\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"CC\" data-pwa-category=\"grammar\" data-pwa-hint=\"You might need a comma before this conjunction if it joins two independent clauses. Goodson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is next in <span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-EA5971C4B1F3052D93DDADF4E9990E2C\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"COORDCONJIC_MISSING-COMMA_PWCE\" data-pwa-category=\"grammar\" data-pwa-hint=\"Missing comma before coordinating conjunction when it separates two independent clauses\" data-pwa-suggestions=\"line,\" data-pwa-heavy=\"true\" data-pwa-dictionary-word=\"line\">line<\/span> but even his production is spotty while <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TakiSi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sione Takitaki<\/a> <\/strong>mainly played special teams.<\/p>\n<p>This gives Ajayi a chance to compete for a roster spot in camp, as Cleveland\u2019s next in line group in the room has little playing experience and those that haven\u2019t produced in the NFL. Ajayi should at least warrant himself a spot on the Browns\u2019 practice squad and work his way into a backup role. His ceiling can go further.<\/p>\n<h3>Rashard Higgins, Wide Receiver<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HiggRa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rashard Higgins<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0looked like he was about to have a breakout season in 2019 after a solid performance in 2018. Then injuries hit along with a dispute with then-coach <strong>Freddie Kitchens<\/strong>. Higgins found himself either unused on game day or a healthy scratch. Until late-April, many were unsure whether Higgins would even return to the Browns, but he resigned with the team on a one-year deal.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Higgins appeared to be a favorite target of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MayfBa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baker Mayfield<\/a><\/strong>, when he caught 39 passes for four touchdowns. With the Browns lacking a true number three receiver, Higgins is in the mix to return to that role along with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RatlDa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Damion Ratley<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>Donovan Peoples-Jones<\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TaylTa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taywan Taylor<\/a><\/strong>. Higgins should be the clear favorite because of his past chemistry with Mayfield.<\/p>\n<h3>Drew Forbes, Guard<\/h3>\n<p>After posting a solid camp, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/ForbDr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drew Forbes<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0struggled to stay healthy in 2019 and if he had, he could<span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-462868423999A9BE7752E997F8EDC922\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"SHOULD_VERB\" data-pwa-category=\"grammar\" data-pwa-hint=\"The verb '\u2019ve' after the modal verb 'could' does not appear to be in the correct form. Consider changing the verb form.\" data-pwa-suggestions=\"\" data-pwa-heavy=\"false\" data-pwa-dictionary-word=\"\u2019ve\">\u2019ve<\/span> pushed for the starting guard spot that featured a merry-go-round until <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TellWy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wyatt Teller<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0locked up the starting role. In 2020, Teller figures to project as the starter in <span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-B728B4E3847C7EC35C2A9A47025A0A8E\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"MISSING-COMMA_PWCE\" data-pwa-category=\"grammar\" data-pwa-hint=\"Possible missing comma\" data-pwa-suggestions=\"camp,\" data-pwa-heavy=\"true\" data-pwa-dictionary-word=\"camp\">camp<\/span> but he underwhelmed in 2019, posting a very average <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pff.com\/nfl\/players\/wyatt-teller\/46131\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">56.7 grade per Pro Football Focus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If Teller struggles, the Browns could try <span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-EEE82DB8B80D571FFF12FA12B2B00D5D\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"MISSING_PREP_WORD_PWCE\" data-pwa-category=\"grammar\" data-pwa-hint=\"Possible missing preposition\" data-pwa-suggestions=\"to swing\" data-pwa-heavy=\"true\" data-pwa-dictionary-word=\"swing\">swing<\/span> tackle <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HubbCh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Hubbard<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0at the position or they can turn to Forbes if he posts a solid training camp. Forbes isn\u2019t a surprise starter<span class=\"pwa-mark pwa-mark-done pwa-mark-ignored\" data-pwa-id=\"pwa-3D32691C2858996A913C2C2A81EDB6FC\" data-pwa-rule-id=\"CC\" data-pwa-category=\"grammar\" data-pwa-hint=\"You might need a comma before this conjunction if it joins two independent clauses. If the sentence is short and well balanced, some people choose to omit the comma, but you'll never be wrong to include it in this case.\" data-pwa-suggestions=\", and\" data-pwa-heavy=\"false\" data-pwa-dictionary-word=\" and\">\u00a0and<\/span> it\u2019s possible he becomes the eventual starter by the end of the season.<\/p>\n<h3>Chad Thomas, Defensive End<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/ThomCh06.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chad Thomas<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0quietly put together a decent season, playing in 16 games and starting eight. He amassed 26 tackles and four sacks after spending most of 2018 on the inactive list. He didn\u2019t have the most productive season and there\u2019s a lot of room for improvement, but he played well enough to be a spot starter and provide key depth.<\/p>\n<p>Note that Thomas didn\u2019t experience a breakout season until his junior year when he recorded four and a half sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
