Let’s be honest, those who have been drafted by the team, and shown elite talent, have been best utilized under the league. They have worked for the system. The coronavirus has us all sitting at home analyzing our favorite teams and the changes that have transpired. This has been the same for the Saints. While the team hasn’t had many issues on offense, they have proven to need more wide receivers. Their behavior in the off-season shows fans they are fully aware of it. However, even with the additions, I am sure Michael Thomas will continue to put numbers up for next season.

In the wide receiver section, the team has added Emmanuel Sanders, and free agents Juwan Johnson, and Marquez Callaway. They have also resigned Austin Carr and Tommylee Lewis.

Michael Thomas Will Continue to Impress for the New Orleans Saints

Can’t Guard Mike

Here are just a few reasons Michael Thomas will continue to perform at an elite level.

Competitive – There have been plenty of accounts where others have said Thomas loves to trash talk. My guess is he loves to compete. His competitive nature most likely isn’t only against others but himself also. Since he has been drafted to the NFL, his statistics have shown continued progression. He not only tries to be better than the next guy but also better than his previous self.

Reliability – Since Thomas has proven he wants the ball, Drew Brees will always target Mr. Reliable when in a bind. Other receivers will have to prove they are reliable and willing to step up during the season in order for Brees to add that kind of pressure.

New Orleans Saints Additions

This isn’t to say Thomas will not share the receiving love. However, I am not counting on Austin Carr or TommyLee Lewis to be too productive during the season. Lewis spent 2016-2018 with the Saints. If he lands a spot on the roster as a wide receiver, it will be nice to see how productive he will be for the season. Lastly, Carr spent last year injured. In 2018, Carr had a fair season ending with nine catches for 97 yards. If healthy, we might have a chance to see what

The spotlight will most likely be on Emmanuel Sanders, the veteran is coming from the San Francisco 49ers. When initially drafted, Sanders played the Pittsburgh Steelers and had catch rates percentages ranges from 51-59 percent. His best catch percentage was in 2018 at 72 percent with the Denver Broncos. It is going to an interesting season seeing how the chemistry is between Brees and Sanders and if Sanders can alleviate some of the pressure off of Thomas. One thing for sure, don’t count Thomas out on getting the ball.

Embed from Getty Images

The New Orleans Saints have proven to have impeccable taste when it comes to offense and 2020 should be no different with Michael Thomas playing his part.

[54,28
4295,371,312,6504,301,309,4216
post-87828","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-editorials","category-saints","tag-austin-carr","tag-drew-brees","tag-emmanuel-sanders","tag-marquez-callaway","tag-michael-thomas","tag-new-orleans-saints","tag-tommylee-lewis
["GET
