Below are some Week 16 fantasy football starts and sits to help you win this week.

Week 16 Fantasy Football Starts and Sits

Starts

Cam Newton

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been one of the biggest busts so far this season. In 2015, Newton finished as the fantasy football top scoring player and was the NFL MVP. This year, he has struggled in the NFL and to produce fantasy points. Newton is coming off a solid Week 15 performance where he scored 20 fantasy points. In Week 16, he is going up against the Atlanta Falcons, who are giving up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is averaging 17 fantasy points per game this season. Last week he scored 19 fantasy points. In week he is going up against the Detroit Lions, who have been giving up the seventh most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Jordan Howard

Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard has been one of the best running backs in fantasy over the last seven games. In the last seven contests, he is averaging 17 fantasy points per game. In Week 16, he is going up against the Washington Redskins, who are allowing the third most fantasy points to running backs this season.

LeGarrette Blount

New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount has been one of the best running backs in fantasy in 2016. He has averaged 13 fantasy points per game this season. In his last seven games he has averaged 12 fantasy points. This week he is going up against the New York Jets and should see plenty of touches and continue to produce fantasy points in your championship match-ups.

Demaryius Thomas

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has been a solid wide receiver two for most of the season. He is currently averaging nine fantasy points per game. He is going up against the Kansas City Chiefs, who are giving up the seventh most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. The game is a must win for the Broncos to stay in the playoff race.

Julian Edelman

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been a solid wide receiver for fantasy owners, and even better receiver in PPR leagues. Over his last seven games, he is averaging nine fantasy points per contest. In Week 16 he is going up against the New York Jets, who have given up the ninth most fantasy points to wide receivers. He scored eight fantasy points against them earlier this season.

Kyle Rudolph

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph has been one of the most consistent tight ends in fantasy, as he is averaging seven fantasy points per contest this season. In Week 16, he has a solid match-up with the Green Bay Packers. It’s a must win game for both teams to stay in the playoffs race. Last time he faced the Packers, Rudolph had nine fantasy points.

Cameron Brate

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate has been a consistent producer this season. He is averaging seven fantasy points per game. He is also averaging nine fantasy points over his last four games. He has a solid match-up with the New Orleans Saints this week.

Sits

Marcus Mariota

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota was one of the best quarterbacks over most of the season for fantasy owners. In his last two contests, he has scored five points in both of the match-ups. In Week 16 he is going up against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who surprisingly, are giving up the seventh fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. While he has big upside, he is a risky play in the championship game.

Carson Palmer

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is coming off a solid Week 15 where he scored 20 fantasy points. He has not had the season many expected as he is averaging only 14 fantasy points per game. This week he is going up against the Seattle Seahawks, who have been giving up the fourth fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Adrian Peterson

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has missed most of the season due to injury. Last week he played but anyone who played him was very disappointed, as he scored zero fantasy points. He is going up against the Green Bay Packers who have been a tough match-up for running backs. He is too risky of a play for your fantasy team.

Rashad Jennings

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings was finally seeing the target in touches that many thought he could handle, and was producing solid fantasy points. In weeks 10 through 13, Jennings averaged over 10 fantasy points per game, but he is now in a time share with the other Giants running backs. In Week 16 he has a difficult match-up with the Philadelphia Eagles, who have been giving up the 11th fewest fantasy points to running backs this season.

Terrelle Pryor

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor was one of the best wide receivers this season. In his last two games however, he has totaled a whopping one fantasy point. This week he is going up the San Diego Chargers, who have been tough on wide receivers and are giving up the tenth fewest points to wide receivers this season.

Brandon Marshall

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been a huge let down in the last three games. In his last three contests, he is averaging only three fantasy points per game. Marshalls disappointing production is because of drops and bad quarterback play. In Week 16 he is going up against the New England Patriots, who are giving up the seventh fewest fantasy points this season.

Coby Fleener

New Orleans Saints tight end Coby Fleener has had two disappointing games in a row. In his last two contest he has totaled one fantasy point. With his quarterback struggling over the last few weeks, his targets have not been as consistent as other times this season. This week he is going up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been solid against tight ends, and with all the other weapons to feed in that offense he is a risky play this week.

Jermaine Gresham

Arizona Cardinals tight end Jermaine Gresham has been a decent fantasy option for fantasy owners over the second half of the season. In his last seven games he is averaging five fantasy points per game. In Week 16 he has a tough match up against the Seattle Seahawks, who are giving up the fifth fewest points to tight ends this season.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

Winning week to week in fantasy football is all about playing the match-ups.
