The teams reportedly exchanged late-round picks as part of the transaction. Selected by the New England Patriots, Harmon spent the entirety of his career under the tutelage of <strong>Bill Belichick<\/strong>. Additionally, the Rutgers product played under defensive coordinator and current Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia from his rookie season until the end of the 2017 season.<\/p>\n<p>Harmon is far from the first Patriot to find his way into Detroit. In this offseason alone, the Lions have also signed\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CollJa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jamie Collins<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/ShelDa01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Shelton<\/a><\/strong> to long-term deals. Since Patricia took over, the Lions have also added from Patriots\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AmenDa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Amendola<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FlowTr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trey Flowers<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ColeJu01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin Coleman<\/a><\/strong>, just to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>Harmon spent the majority of his career serving as a &#8220;center fielder&#8221; type of safety behind star\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCoDe99.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Devin McCourty<\/a><\/strong>. New England would often drop McCourty into the box and bring in Harmon as a third safety to take away the deep part of the field. The Rutgers product has a reputation as a game-sealer, as the vast majority of his interceptions came in the fourth quarter of games. His most famous interception probably came in the 2014 AFC Divisional Round against the Baltimore Ravens. Nursing a 35-31 lead, Harmon intercepted a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FlacJo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joe Flacco<\/a><\/strong> pass in the endzone intended for\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SmitTo02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Torrey Smith<\/a><\/strong>.
