In his sixth season, he managed to get his first 1,000-yard rushing season. He finished with 1,070 yards and six touchdowns. He also got to play in his first postseason game. It was also only the second time he’d played all 16 games in a season – something he’ll hopefully be able to do more going forward.

Hyde played college football with Ohio State University for four years, getting 3,198 rushing yards and 37 touchdowns in that time. He was drafted in 2014 by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round. He spent four years with the team during a time period where they struggled heavily.

Hyde struggled with injuries a bit during his first few years, but came close to 1,000 yards twice. In 2016 he got 988 yards in 13 games. In 2017 he played his first 16-game season and got over 1,200 yards from scrimmage.

He then joined the Cleveland Browns in 2018, where he struggled in terms of yards per carry (3.4), but still got in the end zone five times in six games. Then he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he primarily played a backup role with a heavily struggling running game. 2018 was easily his worst season, as he only got 571 yards in 14 games. He also did not score a single touchdown with the Jaguars.

Hyde then signed with the Chiefs early in 2019, but was traded at the end of August to the Texans where he resurrected his career. So far in his career, he has 4,340 rushing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 709 receiving yards with three receiving touchdowns.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Carlos Hyde is coming off his first 1,000-yard rushing season.
