Greg Olsen<\/a><\/strong> is headed to the Pacific Northwest to join the Seattle Seahawks. This according to a Tweet by NFL insider Adam Schefter. The free-agent tight end Greg Olsen will sign a one-year contract to join the Seattle Seahawks. The contract is for one year and seven million dollars with five and half of it guaranteed.<\/p>\n

Olsen spent time and negotiated with the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins before opting for Seattle. He will be paired with Will Dissly<\/a><\/strong> at tight end and be a target for Russell Wilson<\/a> if he can stay healthy. The news comes on the heels of a report that Drew Brees<\/a> will return<\/a> for his 20th season with the Saints.<\/p>\n

Former Panthers\u2019 TE Greg Olsen is signing a one-year, $7 million deal that includes $5.5M gtd with the Seahawks, per source. Olsen visited and negotiated with Buffalo, Seattle and Washington but felt most comfortable with the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

What does it mean for the Seahawks?<\/h4>\n

The Seahawks<\/a> will be getting the services back of injured tight end Will Dissly<\/a>. Dissly was having a very productive year before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in week five. Prior to that injury, he was on pace for 88 catches, 1000 yards, and 16 touchdowns. He and Greg Olsen will make for a very solid 1-2 punch for the Seahawks and add options to an offense that badly needs them. When you have Russell Wilson<\/a><\/strong> under center, you need to give him weapons. He’ll have Greg Olsen, Will Dissly<\/a>, D.K. Metcalf<\/a>,<\/strong> and Tyler Lockett<\/a>e<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The key to Olsen being a productive member of the offense will be his ability to stay on the field. Greg Olsen is really injury-prone. He has been sidelined for extended periods due to injury. Most notably the past two years he’s been dealing with a foot injury that has seen his play greatly limited.<\/p>\n

If he can stay healthy, he’s going to be a weapon for the Seahawks. He is a tremendous route-runner and has only four drops in the past four seasons. He’s always been an elite red-zone threat and will certainly help in that capacity for the Seahawks.<\/p>\n
