He threw for 4,615 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. The latter number was third worst in the league. He and the Chargers finished 5-11. However, his passing yards were his highest since 2015 and good for fourth best in the league.

Rivers played high school football in Athens, Alabama before playing college football at NC State. He was drafted fourth overall in the 2004 Draft. While the New York Giants were the ones who selected him, he was immediately swapped to the Chargers for Eli Manning, who had been taken first overall. While he has not made the Super Bowl, he did play in an AFC Championship game in the 2007 postseason, where he famously played with a torn ACL. After a tough 2012 season, he also became the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2013.

Rivers currently has 59,271 passing yards, 397 touchdowns, and 198 interceptions. His 397 touchdowns are good for sixth all time. In 11 postseason games, he’s passed for 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His most recent postseason appearance was in 2018, when he and the Chargers got a Wildcard win over the Baltimore Ravens but then lost in the Divisional Round to the New England Patriots.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Philip Rivers is coming off a tough season with 23 touchdowns and 20 interceptions, and will be looking to bounce back in 2020.

[36
61,1501,40,362
post-79577","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl-news","tag-football","tag-los-angeles-chargers","tag-nfl","tag-philip-rivers
["GET
