Let&#8217;s breakdown the top candidates for 2019 OROY.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2019\/12\/29\/2019-nfl-defensive-player-of-the-year-candidates\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Defensive Player of the Year Candidates<\/strong><\/em><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2019\/12\/29\/nfl-defensive-rookie-of-the-year-candidates\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Defensive Rookie of the Year Candidates<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>2019 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Candidates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JacoJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Jacobs<\/a>, Running Back, <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/raiders\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oakland Raiders<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JacoJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Jacobs<\/a><\/strong>&#8216; career got off to a good start, scoring two touchdowns in his first game. Jacob\u2019s has continued the productivity all season. While the concern for him coming out of Alabama was that he wasn&#8217;t built to carry the load, he&#8217;s been a bell-cow for the Raiders this year. Over 14 games Jacobs has 242 carries, 1,150 rushing yards, to go with 27 catches, and seven total touchdowns. He has more forced tackles (70) than any rookie since 2006 and most since <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LyncMa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marshawn Lynch<\/a><\/strong> in 2014.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jacobs ranks first among all rookies in rushing yards, rushing yards per game (88.5), rushing first downs (53), and rushing yards after contact (686). What&#8217;s most impressive is that Jacobs has been playing with a fractured shoulder for half the season. The Alabama alum has carried this Raiders offense for most of the season and will be a cornerstone as they move to Las Vegas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MurrKy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyler Murray<\/a>, Quarterback, <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/cardinals\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arizona Cardinals<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MurrKy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyler Murray<\/a><\/strong> has quietly had a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2019\/11\/27\/kyler-murray-becoming-next-great-quarterback\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">good first season in the desert<\/a>. While his numbers don&#8217;t jump on the page, he&#8217;s shown flashes of being a special talent. Murray has completed almost 65 percent of his passes for 3,397 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions. He&#8217;s also shown to be a true dual-threat quarterback with 544 rushing yards, ranking second at the position to likely MVP <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JackLa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lamar Jackson<\/a><\/strong>. He ranks second in yards per carry (6.0) at his position and his four rushing touchdowns are tied for third among all quarterbacks.<\/p>\n<p>Murray is the only rookie quarterback to have started every game and his QBR already ranks in the top half of the league (14th). He&#8217;ll need more weapons in the passing game moving forward but Murray looks to be the mobile franchise quarterback most teams are now coveting.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SandMi01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miles Sanders<\/a>, Running Back, <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/eagles\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia Eagles<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>A late entry to the list, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SandMi01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miles Sanders<\/a><\/strong> has come on strong in the last quarter of the season and is getting some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleedinggreennation.com\/2019\/12\/26\/21037650\/eagles-news-miles-sanders-offensive-rookie-year-buzz-philadelphia-running-back-penn-state-award-nfl\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OROY buzz<\/a>. Sanders hasn&#8217;t carried the load in the running game all season like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JacoJo01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Jacobs<\/a>, but he&#8217;s been a fixture in the passing game for the Eagles. He&#8217;s pulled in 47 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns. In addition, he&#8217;s also put together a solid season on the ground with 766 rushing yards and three additional touchdowns. In NFL history Sanders is one of only 13 rookies to have had 700 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards. While his 1,316 yards from scrimmage rank second to Jacobs, his 1,590 all-purpose yards rank first amongst all rookies. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SandMi01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miles Sanders<\/a> is the explosive playmaker that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WentCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carson Wentz<\/a><\/strong> needed in the Eagles offense.<\/p>\n<h3>Others In Play for 2019 NFL Offensive ROY<\/h3>\n<h6><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=override,BrowAJ00&amp;search=A.J.+Brown&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A.J. Brown<\/a><\/strong>, Wide Receiver, <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/titans\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tennessee Titans<\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Brown has been great this year and emerged as the top target for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TannRy00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Tannehill<\/a><\/strong>. He&#8217;s put together a stat line of 48 catches, 927 yards, and seven touchdowns.<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McLaTe00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terry McLaurin<\/a><\/strong>, Wide Receiver, <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/redskins\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Redskins<\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>McLaurin has overcome quarterback issues and become a playmaker for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HaskDw00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dwayne Haskins<\/a><\/strong>.
