While this obviously makes him riskier than normal, he’s still a must-play in a favorable matchup. The Houston Texans aren’t particularly good against the past, and Winston still has enough weapons to move the ball through the air. Breshad Perriman proved to be a reliable weapon last week and O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate form a solid tight end duo. Bruce Arians is one of the better offensive coaches in the league and should be able to scheme up some plays for Winstson.

Sit: Dak Prescott

Under normal circumstances, Dak Prescott would be an easy start. Prescott is one of the better quarterbacks in the league, can move the ball on the ground, has a great set of wide receivers, and is facing a terrible Philadelphia Eagles secondary. However, Prescott is also battling a serious shoulder injury which is going to limit his effectiveness. Not all injuries are created equal, but early reports indicate that this injury will seriously impact Prescott’s ability to move the ball through the air. While he could certainly put up a good stat line in spite of his injury, he carries too much risk to play on championship weekend.

Start: Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of the most volatile quarterbacks in the league, but he’s been far more good than bad in recent weeks. The journeyman quarterback is going to have DeVante Parker in Week 16, which means he’s going to have all the weapons he needs to move the ball against a hapless Cincinnati Bengals defense. Last week, Fitzpatrick went off to the tune of 279 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He should post a similar stat line in Week 16 and offers some minor upside on the ground. If you’re looking for a pivot, you could do a lot worse than Fitzpatrick.

Sit: Josh Allen

Josh Allen has been a solid fantasy quarterback this season, but you cannot play him against the New England Patriots defense. New England might have the best collective unit in the league and they excel at disguising coverages and taking away what the opponent does best. Allen isn’t great at reading defenses and the Patriots are going to sell out to take away his rushing ability. The last time these two teams met, Allen completed just 46% of his passes for 153 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Start: Daniel Jones/ Eli Manning

As of this posting, nobody knows if Daniel Jones or Eli Manning is going to start for the New York Giants. However, whichever one ends up under center should have a good game against the Washington Redskins. New York doesn’t have too much talent on their roster but they have a solid receiving trio in Golden Tate, Sterling Shepard, and Darius Slayton. These three should easily exploit Washington’s overmatched secondary, meaning that Jones or Manning should be able to move the ball at will. Jones had plenty of strong fantasy outings, and Manning proved over the last two weeks that he’s still capable of playing at a solid level.

Sit: Jared Goff

There is no good reason to trust Jared Goff in this matchup. The rest of the NFL figured out Sean McVay’s system, which means the onus is now on Goff to beat defenses on his own. He has yet to prove up to the task, as the former first-overall pick is currently the QB17 in standard scoring formats. He was objectively bad in Week 15 before salvaging his night in garbage time and won’t be able to do much of anything against San Francisco’s defense.

Auto-Starts (Better Than Jameis Winston)

Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Tannehill

Running Back Week 16 Start Sits
Wide Receiver Week 16 Start Sits

Main photo:
<a id="o6Np222cTeF3JHvoJ7FfTQ" class="gie-single" style="color: #a7a7a7;
