Winston is one of the most volatile passers in the league, capable of making some of the best and worst plays on a throw-by-throw basis. Basically, he’s Brett Favre if Brett Favre were bad. Starting Winston is a stressful experience, and he’s going to turn the ball over at least once or twice. However, he racks up yardage and touchdowns at a high clip and can easily give you a strong performance in your fantasy playoffs.

Sit: Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles have not played up to expectations this year. Once seen as Super Bowl contenders, the Eagles are on the outside looking in and won’t have Alshon Jeffery for the remainder of the season. Philadelphia might have the worst group of wide receivers in the league, and Wentz hasn’t shown an ability to overcome his subpar supporting cast when Jeffery isn’t around. Even with the favorable matchup against the Washington Redskins, you’re better off leaving Carson Wentz on your bench.

Start: Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo is starting to look like the guy who took the league by storm in 2017. The former second-round pick struggled out of the gate, but there’s every reason to believe his recent surge is sustainable. For one, this is his first season back from a torn ACL, and it’s not uncommon for quarterbacks to come out of the gate slowly. Secondly, Garoppolo has one of the best situations in the league with Kyle Shanahan calling plays for George Kittle, Emmanuel Sanders, and Deebo Samuel. Garoppolo should have a strong game against the Atlanta Falcons and their subpar defense and should easily end the week as a top-six quarterback.

Sit: Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick has played better than anyone could have possibly expected this season, but his hot streak is coming to an end. Anyone who’s followed football over the past few seasons knows that Fitzpatrick is one of the most volatile passers in the league, and he’s due for a rough patch. DeVante Parker has finally lived up to his potential and has been a godsend for Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins. However, he’s currently in concussion protocol and probably won’t play in Week 15. If he’s out, Fitzpatrick won’t have anyone to throw to and won’t be able to take advantage of New York’s underwhelming passing defense.

Start: Tom Brady

Tom Brady took a statistical step back in 2019, but he can still tear apart a subpar defense like the Cincinnati Bengals. The Patriots desperately need to figure out their offense, and they should figure something out against the lowly Bengals. Julian Edelman is still a stud, James White is seeing a larger role, and it sounds like the Patriots are going to try to find a way to incorporate N’Keal Harry into the mix. Betting against the Patriots is never wise and until they’re officially done, you have to assume they’ll eventually figure it out on offense.

Sit: Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is not the quarterback he once was. While he can still take advantage of a bad defense, he’s not the auto-start of days past. Rodgers struggled in Week 14 against the Washington Redskins and was an absolute disaster the last time he had to go up against a real defense (Week 12 vs San Francisco). Facing off against the Bears isn’t going to be easy, and you’re better off finding another streamer.

Auto-Starts (Better Than Jameis Winston, No Particular Order)

Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, Deshaun Watson, Ryan Tannehill

Week 15 Running Back Start Sits
Week 15 Wide Receiver Start Sits

Main photo:
<a id="hu1qOl3ZTXl_b18YRih4vw" class="gie-single" style="color: #a7a7a7;
