Athletic Ability<\/h3>\n

Gross-Matos has good bend and flexibility. He possesses a great burst off the line and has enough athletic ability to drop in coverage and not be a liability.<\/p>\n

Competitiveness<\/h3>\n

Yetur has a high Motor. He rallies to the ball and rarely takes a rep off. He’s a max effort kind of guy who has run down several plays from the opposite side of the field.<\/p>\n

Mental Alertness<\/h3>\n

Gross-Matos has exhibited outstanding awareness and play recognition. He has shown the ability to sniff out screen passes and know when to get his hands up to defend a quick pass.<\/p>\n

Strength\/Durability<\/h3>\n

Yetur has decent play strength, the scary thing is he has the frame to add another 20 lbs of muscle without sacrificing his athleticism. He’s proven to be a durable player at this point in his career.<\/p>\n

Position Skill<\/h2>\n

Gross-Matos has the perfect blend of size, strength, and speed. Active hands to swat away blocks. He’s more than a one-trick pony while rushing the passer; he has a great stutter step, rip, swim, spin move and bull rush. He possesses good range, pursuit, and has an excellent closing burst. He has long arms and strong hands that allow him to disengage offensive linemen with ease. He shows good technique, keeps a flat back on take-off and can cause OL fits with his explosion.<\/p>\n

Overall<\/h3>\n

Yetur Gross-Matos’s greatest asset is his versatility. With his size, strength, and athleticism, he could be a stand up outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme or put his hand on the ground in a 4-3. Mathematically he grades out as a first-round prospect whom I anticipate being selected in the top 15. At this stage, he doesn’t look like someone to build a defense around but he’d be a phenomenal complement to a team that already has an established pass rusher on the opposite side.<\/p>\n
