The Philadelphia Eagles<\/strong> have traded cornerback Eric Rowe<\/a><\/strong> to the New England Patriots<\/strong>. The Pats will send offensive lineman Josh Kline<\/a><\/strong> and a draft pick to Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia Eagles Trade Cornerback Eric Rowe to New England Patriots <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ian Rappaport<\/strong> of NFL.com<\/strong> and the NFL Network<\/strong> reports that the pick is a 2018 fourth round pick. That pick could become a third round pick, depending on how much time Rowe plays for the Patriots over the next two seasons.<\/p>\n

The Eagles drafted Rowe in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He recorded 31 tackles and an interception during his rookie season.<\/p>\n

This is the second player that the Eagles have traded away over the course of the week. They traded quarterback Sam Bradford<\/a><\/strong> to the Minnesota Vikings<\/strong> for a couple draft picks. The Vikings got Bradford after their quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater<\/a><\/strong>, tore his ACL in non-contact drills last week.<\/p>\n

The Eagles will be startingrookie quarterback Carson Wentz<\/strong> in their Week one game against the Cleveland Browns<\/strong>. Wentz was drafted second overall by the Eagles in April’s draft out of North Dakota State University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kline may be on his way out of Philadelphia as fast as they picked him up. ESPN<\/strong> NFL insider Adam Schefter<\/strong> is reporting that the Eagles are in “deep discussions” to trade Kline, according to 247Sports<\/strong>. The team in which they are in talk with has not been determined.<\/p>\n

Kline spent his first four years in Foxboro after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft. He started 13 games for them in 2015, but only four during their Super Bowl run in 2014. The Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks<\/strong> in Super Bowl XLIX. They fell one game short of Super Bowl 50 in 2015.<\/p>\n

Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson<\/a><\/strong> is facing a 10-game suspension, so adding Kline would have helped their offensive line had they planned to keep him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
