Gone are the days where you could just coast by on a strong draft. Now more than ever, you’ll need to search the waiver wire for all the best available running backs. Heading into Week 10, you should set your eyes on Derrius Guice, J.D. If you’re desperate, go get Kalen Ballage.

Note that in order to make this list, the player had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you’re in smaller leagues, there may be better players available. McKissic Highlight Fantasy Football Week 10 Running Back Waiver Wire Claims

Derrius Guice

If you need a one-week play for Week 10, don’t pick Derrius Guice. The Washington Redskins have a bye week in Week 10, so the second-year running back won’t provide any fantasy football value in the short term. However, he’s easily worth a one-week stash considering the workload he’s about to receive.

Head coach Bill Callahan clearly wants to run the crap out of the football and doesn’t seem to care whether the strategy actually correlates to winning football. Adrian Peterson has been a valuable fantasy football streamer, and Guice is younger and (theoretically) better than the ancient Peterson. Washington’s offense is terrible and won’t lead to many scoring opportunities, but Guice’s workload should give him a relatively stable floor for the remainder of the season.

J.D. McKissic

It is a very bad week for running back waivers, but J.D. McKissic is probably the best play if you’re looking for a one-week stream. The Detroit Lions running back led the team in rushing yards and caught three receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. It’s hard to get too excited about him, but he’s the best option widely available if you’re desperate for a one-week stream.

Mark Walton

Update: Mark Walton is suspended for four games. If you’re desperate, go get Kalen Ballage.

Mark Walton is going to remain on this list until he reaches the 50% ownership threshold. Walton objectively isn’t that great of a player and plays in a bad, low-scoring offense. However, he still receives the majority of the touches and Miami has actually been relatively competitive the past few weeks. Don’t expect Walton to be anything more than an emergency start, but he deserves to be rostered in every format.

Reggie Bonnafon

Christian McCaffrey is an amazing player. In Week 9’s matchup, the former first-round pick recorded 146 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, three receptions, and a combined three touchdowns. He’s easily the RB1 in just about every scoring format and is singlehandedly winning a lot of leagues.

Unfortunately, the odds of him making it to the end of the season with a clean bill of health are pretty low. McCaffrey is easily leading the league in touches, and nobody can be expected to survive that type of a workload. Reggie Bonnafon is McCaffrey’s primary backup and would see the majority of the work should something happen to McCaffrey. Even if you’re not the McCaffrey owner, Bonnafon is worth a roster spot for his upside alone. If McCaffrey goes down, Bonnafon can win you a championship.

Redux: Darrell Henderson

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Claims: Wide Receiver – Quarterback – Defense

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Fantasy Football Week 10 Running Back Waiver Wire Claims: Derrius Guice and J.D.
