Eight weeks of NFL play are officially in the books, which means bye weeks are in full swing. Gone are the days where you could just coast by on a strong draft. Now more than ever, you\u2019ll need to search the waiver wire for all the best available quarterbacks. Heading into Week 9, you should set your eyes on\u00a0Gardner Minshew<\/a>, Matt Moore<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0Sam Darnold<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Note that in order to make this list, the player had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you\u2019re in smaller leagues, there may be better players available. Make sure to check your waivers to see if there are any diamonds in the rough before submitting your claims.<\/p>\n

Gardner Minshew, Matt Moore Highlight Fantasy Football Week 9 Quarterback Waiver Wire Streams<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Gardner Minshew<\/h3>\n

Nick Foles<\/a><\/strong> is never getting his job back. Gardner Minshew is the real deal and is only getting better with time. In his most recent outing, the former sixth-round pick recorded 279 passing yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions against an admittedly bad New York Jets squad. He\u2019s not a top-five fantasy quarterback by any means, but he never has bad games and is starting to increase his ceiling.<\/p>\n

Minshew and the Jaguars face off against a Houston Texans defense that won\u2019t have J.J. Watt<\/a><\/strong>. Watt is one of the best defensive players of his time, and his absence is going to create a massive void for the Texans to fill. Minshew should have his share of clean pockets and should be able to pick apart Houston\u2019s subpar secondary.<\/p>\n

Matt Moore<\/h3>\n

Andy Reid<\/a><\/strong> is a wizard. Even after losing the best young quarterback in football, his fantastic scheme made Matt Moore look like a legitimate starting quarterback against the Green Bay Packers. The career journeyman had one of the best games of his life, and he should be able to put together a similar performance against the Minnesota Vikings.<\/p>\n

Patrick Mahomes<\/a><\/strong> is obviously a fantastic player, but Kansas City\u2019s scheme and talent makes it easy for any quarterback to succeed. Tyreek Hill<\/a><\/strong> and Travis Kelce<\/a><\/strong> are both game-changing talents, and players like Sammy Watkins<\/a><\/strong> and Mecole Hardman<\/a><\/strong> are more than capable of making plays on their own. Additionally, Mahomes led the league<\/a> by a wide margin in open throw percentage. Andy Reid is the best offensive mind in football, and this offense is littered with explosive weapons. You don\u2019t need to be Patrick Mahomes to put up a good fantasy outing in this offense.<\/p>\n

Sam Darnold<\/h3>\n

Sam Darnold is coming off back-to-back ugly performances, but he should have a get-right game in Week 10. New York\u2019s franchise quarterback had two bad matchups which, combined with his return to the field, made him look worse than he actually is. The Jets finally have an easy upcoming schedule, and Darnold should be a low-end QB1 for the next handful of weeks.<\/p>\n

Darnold kicks off his favorable run by facing off against the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. The Dolphins, of course, are the worst team in the league and just about anyone has the potential to put up a top-five performance against them. After that, Darnold and the Jets host the New York Giants and their terrible defense. Sam Darnold has the ability to take advantage of subpar defenses and should be a safe streaming option for at least the next two weeks.<\/p>\n
