There is a caveat, however, as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DaniCh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chase Daniel<\/a><\/strong> will be starting in the place of the injured <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TrubMi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mitchell Trubisky<\/a><\/strong>. While the defense will get back <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SmitRo07.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roquan Smith<\/a><\/strong> in some capacity, a boon for the group, but there is an undeniable trap-game feel to this game.<\/p>\n<h2>Chicago Bears Raid London<\/h2>\n<h3>Chase-ing Glory<\/h3>\n<p>Daniel came on in relief of Trubisky in the opening minutes of the Bears Week 4 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/vikings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Minnesota Vikings<\/a> and mostly played like anything but a backup. After the opening-drive touchdown, the Bears managed three more scoring drives but all were field goals. Yes, getting any points is always a good thing, but even those drives dried up. Chicago punted on four of their final six drives and turned the ball over on downs on their last drive.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel had a similar performance against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/lions\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Lions<\/a> in 2018, his first of two starts last year after Trubisky injured his other shoulder against the Vikings. He finished that game with 230 passing yards and two scores with no picks. The Bears won that game 23-16, sealing it on the strength of back-to-back picks by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=JackEd01,JackEd20&amp;search=Eddie+Jackson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eddie Jackson<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=FullKy00,FullKy01&amp;search=Kyle+Fuller&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyle Fuller<\/a><\/strong>; the former scored.<\/p>\n<p>The other shoe dropped the following week, though, when the Bears faced the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/giants\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Giants<\/a>. Daniel\u2019s first pass was intercepted and housed by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/O\/OgleAl00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alec Ogletree<\/a><\/strong>. The 10-year veteran threw 39 times, completing 26 for 285 yards, a touchdown, and two picks. That game saw <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CoheTa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tarik Cohen<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/BeckOd00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Odell Beckham<\/a><\/strong> Jr. throw touchdowns and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HickAk00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Akiem Hicks<\/strong><\/a> run for one, but the Bears fell, 30-27\u00a0 in overtime.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>We-fense<\/h3>\n<p>The injury bug has bitten the Bears and the defense is no exception. Down <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/N\/NichBi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bilal Nichols<\/a><\/strong> and Hicks,\u00a0 Smith missed the contest against the Vikings. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KwiaNi00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Kwiatkoski<\/a><\/strong> (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillNi01.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Nick Williams<\/strong><\/a>) filled in admirably and Chicago <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/2019\/09\/30\/chicago-bears-injured-stil-dominant\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shut down<\/a> Minnesota, who came in with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CookDa01.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dalvin Cook<\/a><\/strong> leading the league in rushing.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, Smith is set to return this week after stating his personal issue (yes, that is an acceptable explanation, nosey) was behind him. Hicks will reportedly be a game-time decision. With Daniel starting, the Bears will need all available hands on deck. But the Giants were 19th in scoring and 21st in yards last year when they knocked off the Bears. Chicago let New York get within four points with a field goal before halftime then allowed points on four of six New York drives in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>The Bears have their bye week in Week 6 so it is not hard to imagine a situation where they are looking past a sub-par opponent to a chance to recuperate. But knowing <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VicTafur\/status\/1178690015167238146\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how much this game means<\/a> to former-Raider <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MackKh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Khalil Mack<\/a><\/strong>, there should be ample motivation to get the job done. If not, they could have a repeat of Week 13 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>London: Bridge or Trap?<\/h3>\n<p>All the signs of a trap are there just as they were for that Giants tilt. Daniel will have to play better this time than his last start and the defense will have to, well, keep doing what they do. The Raiders are 2-2 and coming off a 31-24 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprofootball.com\/nfl-teams\/colts\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarrDe02.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derek Carr<\/a><\/strong> (72.1 percent completion, 888 yards, six touchdowns, three interceptions in 2019) has been sacked two times per game.
