The Patriots selected Wynn in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but the Georgia product missed the entirety of his rookie season with an Achilles injury. Wynn started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list but played 100% of the snaps in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team did not reveal which foot was injured.

New England’s offensive line is already decimated by injuries. While the injury looked gruesome in real-time, Cannon isn’t expected to miss significant time and could play as early as Week 3.

In Wynn’s absence, the Patriots used a rotation of Korey Cunningham and the recently-signed Marshall Newhouse. New England traded for Cunningham in the weeks leading up to the season while the Patriots added Newhouse following Marcus Cannon’s injury.

Additionally, the Patriots could also shift left guard Joe Thuney over to tackle.
