We saw huge breakout performances from guys like Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown and Sammy Watkins making them DFS gold in the seasons opening weekend. As good as those performances were, we’ve been fooled by Week One breakouts before so it must be taken with a grain of salt. Looking ahead to Week Two, we have a chance to see who’s going to be a weekly contributor for our lineups and who was just a one-week wonder. Let’s dive right into it with my top DFS stack plays for Week Two of the NFL season.

(All prices apply to Fanduel)

Drew Brees Headlines Week Two DFS Stack Plays

Jared Goff ($7,600) & Cooper Kupp ($6,800)

The Los Angeles Rams will host the New Orleans Saints in what should be the highest-scoring matchup of Week Two. Last year when these two teams met up it was an absolute shootout with the Saints coming out on top 45-35 in New Orleans. This time the matchup takes place in LA which should give the Rams the advantage.

When these two teams met last year both Jared Goff and Cooper Kupp had huge games and I’m expecting a similar outcome this time around. Goff finished the game with nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns while Kupp reeled in five catches for 89 yards and a score. With Brandin Cooks likely to draw Marshon Lattimore in coverage, Kupp is going to have the easier matchup in the slot against P.J. Williams. This game is going to have a ton of points scored and I want as many pieces of it as I can get, starting with Goff and Kupp.

Drew Brees ($8,000) & Michael Thomas ($8,500)

Notice a trend here? This Rams vs Saints game is going to be wild and if you don’t want to stack the Rams side, go with the Saints. The Saints are coming off an amazing come from behind win on Monday Night Football and their offense looked great in the process. Drew Brees was on fire in the second half finishing with 370 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. His partner in crime Michael Thomas came to play as well finishing the game with a whopping 10 catches on 13 targets for 123 yards.

Looking ahead at their Week Two matchup and you have to love the potential. Brees absolutely torched the Rams secondary last year for 346 yards and four touchdowns. Guess who is number one target was? Thomas finished the game with 12 receptions on 15 targets for 211 yards and a score. It takes some guys three weeks to put up numbers like that. The price tag may be steep, but these two are well worth it in a matchup like this.

Derek Carr ($6,600) & Tyrell Williams ($5,900)

Here is my value play of the week, Derek Carr and his number one option Tyrell Williams. As of last week, Williams was more of a bench stash than anything. But a lot can change in a week. With Antonio Brown now in New England, Williams is the clear top option in this offense and took advantage of that in Week One. On Monday Night Football, Williams showed out with six receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. His quarterback didn’t look too shabby either finishing the game with 259 yards and a touchdown to go along with a very impressive 121.1 rating.

Look at their Week Two matchup and you’ll see the obvious upside it presents. They play a Chiefs team who should put up a ton of points forcing Carr to throw the ball all game long on their porous secondary. Last week against a rookie quarterback in his first NFL action, the Chiefs allowed Gardner Minshew to carve them up for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Minshew wasn’t even supposed to see the field and he came out and completed 22 of 25 pass attempts. This secondary is bad! I expect the Raiders to be chasing points all game long which should lead to huge numbers for Carr and his new favorite weapon in Williams.

Embed from Getty Images

Looking ahead to Week 2, we have a chance to see who’s going to be a weekly contributor for our lineups and who was just a one-week wonder.

[59,2
1920,231,111,371,294,61,451,301,40,506
post-72721","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fantasy","category-featured","tag-cooper-kupp","tag-derek-carr","tag-dfs","tag-drew-brees","tag-fantasy-football","tag-football","tag-jared-goff","tag-michael-thomas","tag-nfl","tag-tyrell-williams
["GET
