It’s highly unlikely New England adds any of these players to the active roster, but the Patriots could sign one or two to the practice squad.

New England Patriots Work Out Four Wide Receivers, Quarterback Mike White

The most interesting names on this list are Amara Darboh and Mike White. Darboh, interestingly enough, actually spent some time on New England’s 53-man roster in 2018. Darboh started his career with the Seattle Seahawks but didn’t survive the 2018 roster cuts. New England put in a claim for the Michigan product but waived him two days later with a failed physical designation. The Patriots wide receivers are much better now than they were then, so Darboh doesn’t stand a realistic shot at the current roster. That said, New England clearly likes something about him and he could make his way onto the practice squad.

Arboh has the best shot of actually sticking around, but Mike White is right behind him. White spent the offseason battling Cooper Rush for the Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback position but ultimately fell short. Dallas released him on cutdown day, but New England is in the market for another quarterback. Tom Brady and Jarrett Stidham are the only quarterbacks on the active roster or practice squad, and New England could use a third. The Patriots typically carry a third quarterback either on the roster or the practice squad to limit the amount of throws Brady has to make. Mike White won’t challenge for the backup role, but he’d be a nice fit on New England’s practice squad. While these workouts were mostly due diligence, don’t be surprised if one of these two players end up sticking around.

Main photo:
Embed from Getty Images

The New England Patriots worked out four wide receivers and a quarterback on Saturday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

[5,36
4068,7394,331
post-72445","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-patriots","category-nfl-news","tag-jarrett-stidham","tag-new-england-patriots-news","tag-tom-brady
["GET
