Also, that proposal will be heard by the Oakland City Council on November 29th. To my knowledge, there was no action taken by the Alameda Board of Supervisors.

To put it bluntly, the statement made by the Oakland Mayor was much ado about nothing. Even Ronnie Lott said “We’re so far away from getting there” that he did not want to comment on the mayor’s comments on KNBR.

Nothing has been inked. The Oakland A’s have not agreed to a deal. The Raiders have seen the framework and want no part of it. All this is is an agreement on a proposal on the Coliseum land. The city and county still need to approve that agreement.

If approved by Oakland and Alameda, then the Raiders, A’s, and Golden State Warriors have to agree with it. Many people do not realize how complicated all this is.

Mark Davis reiterated his commitment to Las Vegas “The Raiders are committed to Las Vegas, and that’s what I’m working on.” Davis told Matt Youmans of the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Not only that, but Davis contacted Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and Andy Abboud of Sands Corp to reaffirm his pledge to Las Vegas.

This new information will do nothing to stall a Raiders relocation.

It has to be stressed that for a deal that could stall the Raiders relocation it has to have 3 things.

1. Consensus on the land between the City, County, and the Raiders.

2. A deal on a new ball park for the Oakland A’s.

3. And that deal has to be financially viable for Mark Davis without having to sell a stake in the team.

Even if the Raiders get all that, and a bucket of chicken, the Oakland A’s can still squat on the Coliseum Land for another two years. What that means is construction of a new Stadium in Oakland would not begin until 2019 at the earliest.

By the way, enjoy Thanksgiving and the Raiders being the number one seed in the AFC!

Embed from Getty Images

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf announced yesterday that a framework of a deal with the Lott Group was reached that could stall the Oakland Raiders relocation to Las Vegas.

[17,54
61,848,733,540,40,906
post-6796","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-raiders","category-editorials","tag-football","tag-las-vegas-raiders","tag-libby-schaaf","tag-mark-davis","tag-nfl","tag-scott-winter
["GET
