The Texas Tech product appeared in all 16 games, recording three starts in place of an injured\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CannMa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Cannon<\/a><\/strong>. Additionally, Waddle appeared in all three of New England&#8217;s postseason contests. Waddle finished the season as the 75th-ranked offensive tackle, per Pro Football Focus.<\/p>\n<p>Waddle initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft. Selected by the Detroit Lions, Waddle faced an uphill battle to earn a roster spot. However, Waddle not only broke\u00a0camp with the Lions, but earned the starting right tackle job by Week Eight. Waddle returned to Detroit in 2014, but an injury limited him to just 10 games.<\/p>\n<p>The right tackle started the season with the Lions, but ultimately didn&#8217;t last the season. After appearing in eight games, the Detroit Lions parted ways with their undrafted free agent. Desperate for tackle help, the New England Patriots claimed him off waivers. In total, Waddle played in nine games in 2015, recording six starts.<\/p>\n<p>Waddle re-signed with the New England Patriots prior to the 2016 season. Serving as depth behind\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SoldNa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nate Solder<\/a>, Marcus Cannon<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FlemCa00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cameron Fleming<\/a><\/strong>, Waddle played in just two games, coming off the bench both times. He was inactive for New England&#8217;s 34-28 Super Bowl win over the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n<p>Waddle played a bigger role on the 2017 Patriots, appearing in 12 games and recording four starts.
