Fresh off the heels of a three-year, $54 million contract extension, the former first-round pick battled through a difficult year. In total, Bortles appeared in 13 games, completing 60.3% of his passes for 2,718 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Bortles was benched midway through the season and was effectively replaced by Nick Foles in free agency just a few days ago.

Bortles first entered the league as the third-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. During his time on the field, the quarterback completed 58.6% of his passes for 4,428 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. Bortles earned a Pro Bowl nod as an alternate. He couldn’t build on his promising 2016, as the former first rounder completed just 58.9% of his passes for 3,905 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions while leading Jacksonville to a 3-13 record.

Bortles had the most successful season of his career in 2017. Once again starting in all 16 games, Bortles completed 60.2% of his passes for 3,687 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Jacksonville went 10-6 with Bortles under center, advancing all the way to the AFC Championship Game.

Throughout his career, Bortles has completed 59.3% of his passes for 17,646 yards, 103 touchdowns, and 75 interceptions. Additionally, Bortles had added 1,775 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground during his five-year tenure with Jacksonville.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Five-year NFL veteran Blake Bortles has a new team.
