Joyner set career-highs in tackles and games played helping the Rams make it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/boxscores\/201902030ram.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Super Bowl LIII<\/a>, but his turnover numbers were down. In 2017 he had 39 solo tackles (49 total), but added three interceptions and a forced fumble.<\/p>\n<p>In five seasons with the Rams \u2013 both in L.A. and St. Louis \u2013 Joyner has 236 solo tackles (305 total), 25 pass deflections, five sacks, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, two recoveries, and a touchdown. He came into the league as a corner, playing nickel and backup safety for the Rams his first few seasons. Joyner won the starting free safety job in 2017 with <strong>Wade Phillips<\/strong> running the show on defense for the Rams. Listed at 5&#8217;8&#8243; and 191 pounds, Joyner has played in 67 out of a possible 80 games, with 42 starts.<\/p>\n<p>Joyner was selected in the second round \u2013 41st overall \u2013 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/years\/2014\/draft.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2014 NFL Draft<\/a> out of <a href=\"https:\/\/seminoles.com\/sports\/football\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida State University<\/a>. In college, he won the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/boxscores\/2014-01-06-auburn.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BCS National Championship<\/a> and was consensus All-American in 2013, won back-to-back ACC titles and was named First-Team All-ACC twice and Second-Team once. Joyner attended football factory St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where he was a high school All-American and named National Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today. Before that Joyner attended Southwest Miami High School where he spent three seasons as a varsity defensive back, linebacker, receiver, and kick returner.
