The nickel corner tallied 45 tackles (39 solo) and picked off two passes in 2018. He also showed a knack for getting into the backfield with six tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, and two sacks. His 10 starts matched a career-high, while his 13 games played set a new personal mark. Callahan went down with a foot injury in Week 14 against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnfl.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nfl-teams\/rams\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Rams<\/a>. The Bears placed him on injured reserve on December 12, ending his season.<\/p>\n<p>In four seasons with the Bears, Callahan has amassed 122 tackles (109 solo), four interceptions, four sacks, and a forced fumble. This was after Callahan had 25 tackles (20 solo) with two picks, a forced fumble, and a sack in 2017. He has recorded at least 20 tackles in every campaign, a nod to his physical style of play. The knock on him is durability at his size with his playing style and injury history. Callahan has never played in all 16 games in a season, including the most recent. He even missed time while in college.<\/p>\n<p>The undersized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/bryce-callahan-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defensive back<\/a> out of <a href=\"https:\/\/riceowls.com\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rice University<\/a> signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2015. In college, he totaled 145 tackles (116 solo), 13 interceptions, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a recovery. His ball skills showed early with a freshman season that included six interceptions.
