He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, perhaps higher than he should’ve been, mostly because of his 40-yard dash time of 4.25 seconds. He’s been unable to live up to the hype at this point of his career. He missed the entire 2015 season with his best campaign up to this point was a year later, where he caught 33 balls for 499 yards and three touchdowns.

His second season was much worse, as he only managed to catch 10 passes for 77 yards without a touchdown. The Ravens decided to cut Perriman before the start of the season. He signed with the Washington Redskins a few weeks later but was cut shortly after being signed. Perriman was subsequently picked up by the Cleveland Browns, where he was given a chance to prove his worth.

He was able to contribute with the Browns, albeit not too much, as Cleveland focused their targets on Jarvis Landry, David Njoku, and Antonio Callaway. Perriman, however, still was able to put up serviceable numbers. He finished the season catching 16 balls for 340 yards and two touchdowns. He was able to flash the big play ability that scouts fell in love with, as he averaged over 20 yards per reception.

Perriman attended high school in Georgia, where he excelled in football and track. He committed to play football at Central Florida. Perriman’s college career was underwhelming. He finished his college career with 115 receptions for 2,243 yards and 16 touchdowns. However, Perriman did make the all AAC team in 2014. He decided to forgo his senior season, and enter the NFL draft. The Ravens selected Perriman with the 26th overall pick in the first round.

Embed from Getty Images

Free agent wide receiver Breshad Perriman is signing a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
